Borneo is lies deep in the sea of China. It is one of the biggest and busiest islands in the world, and is shared in part by Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia. Borneo's largest city is Kuching, Sarawak with a population of approximately 632,000 people. Kuching is a Malaysian city, the Malaysian border of the island lies right along the South China Sea. The next biggest city is part of the country Indonesia and is called Banjarmasin. Indonesia occupies the largest part of the island it is surrounded by the Java Sulu, and Celebes seas. The island of Borneo is rich in diversity and culture. It is also very rich in biodiversity. The Borneo rain forest is one of the only habitats remaining for the endangered Borneo Orangutan. It is also a safe haven for other endangered species like the Asian elephant, the Sumatran Rhino, Dayak Fruit Bat, and the Borneo leopard. The island is segregated into 7 seven eco-regions including a few different rain forests, peat swamp forests, mangroves and meadows.
