Explore the mighty Amazon aboard the MV Tucano, an elegant 80 ft. riverboat that evokes the time-honoured river cruises of yesteryear.
Spread across three decks, the Tucano’s classic look harks back to a golden age with rich wood panelling and polished beams softened by the large picture windows which spill light and warmth throughout. There are generous communal areas from the saloon and wrap-around balcony to the Observation Deck which runs the length of the entire upper deck.
The 9 cabins offer a mix of beds and bunks and are simple and cosy with air-conditioning and private facilities. All are elegantly furnished in keeping with the boat’s classic look and offer wonderful views of the surrounding forest.
The food is tasty and wholesome and focuses on the ingredients and flavours unique to the Amazon.
The MV Tucano offers fully inclusive cruises from the port of Manaus up into the remote waterways of the Anavilhanas Archipelago, a natural wonderland home to a dizzying array of species. Guests head out each day accompanied by expert local guides to explore the surrounding flora and fauna and local communities either by foot or small motor skiff depending on the water levels.
