Terres Rouge guest house is located on the shore of Boeung Kansaign Lake and was once the residence of the governor of the province. It is without doubt the best accommodation in this remote part of Cambodia. There is a selection of room categories to choose from but the rooms with more character in the main house are only fan cooled, so we generally recommend the newer air-conditioned bungalows especially if travelling here in the hot summer months. All the rooms and bungalows are simple and unique with little in the way of facilities but oodles of charm.
The large garden is home to beautiful plants, flowers and wild orchids from the province and is decorated with Jarai totems - peculiar carved tree trunks. Behind the lodge is an orchid greenhouse, made from the massive pillars of an antique Kroeung common house. The restaurant is surprisingly good considering the remoteness and offers a wide selection of fusion Cambodia French food. The hotel bar is a great place to relax whilst taking in the fine views of the lake. A small boutique selling local produce is also located on site.
