Kowloon
The Kowloon Peninsula is on the Chinese mainland, part of the Hong Kong special administrative region. The peninsula is surrounded on three sides by Victoria Harbour and the view directly south is to Hong Kong Island, where you will see the iconic skyscrapers across the water. The Kowloon area is, in our opinion, more developed for tourism with a wider choice of bars, restaurants, shopping and nightlife. The main tourist areas are Tsim Tsa Tsui (pronounced tim sar choi) and Mongkok, the further north towards the New Territories you head the more the feeling you are in mainland China you get. Much of the Kowloon Peninsula is built on reclaimed land its population is approximately 2.1 million.
