This small hotel has become a firm favourite in the capital since opening just a few years ago. It is centrally located just a few blocks from the Mekong River, within walking distance of the morning market, and within a kilometre of the victory gate, the important city temples and the National Museum.
The 34 rooms and suites are all contemporary in design and fitted with all the luxuries you would expect of a quality city hotel, such as air-conditioning, cable TV, in room safe and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms all have either a balcony or terrace with views to the private garden or swimming pool. An extra added bonus is the free wireless internet connection in the rooms and throughout most of the hotel.
The public areas are funky and stylish and at the same time you will always know you are in Laos due to the local art work and artistic touches that abound. The restaurant serves good quality Lao, Thai and international dishes and lighter meals are available from the lounge all complimented by a decent wine selection and cocktail list. There is even a small spa although we have not as yet tried it out.
The Green Park is well located, has great elegant contemporary rooms and is in our opinion the best value for money place to stay in the city. Unfortunately Oasis Travel are not the only operator to have recognised this and rooms are often booked well in advance and beside the Settha Palace, Beau Rivage and this hotel, stylish accommodation is not available. The other options in the city are all fairly standard offerings with out character or charm.
