The 34 spacious guest rooms and suites, which are surrounded by frangipani trees and flourishing gardens, provide breathtaking views of the forest canopy and distant mountains dotted with pagodas and stupas from the comfort of your private terrace or balcony. The rooms are furnished simply and elegantly, with emphasis on local styles and materials. Upon entering any of the rooms the sense of peace and space is immediately felt, resulting from the beautiful match of the timber parquet and traditional Lao textiles that decorate the interior. Large windows open onto balconies or terraces, providing ultimate privacy, comfort and tranquility. The large bathrooms each have roomy freeform marble baths.

The hotel Phou Vao Restaurant offers arguably the best dining in the city in unquestionably the most luxurious surroundings. The cuisine is primarily Laotian, served in the traditional style. Many small dishes are combined to create a banquet, based around staples of sticky rice, fresh fish, marinated meats, noodles, dipping sauces and soups. Alternatively, choose from the European menu, where distinctive French cuisine meets delicate, exotic touches. You may choose to dine either indoor or outdoors. The Champa Bar is both comfortable and relaxed, the perfect spot to meet before dinner. You may also want to learn how to recreate the unusual Laotian dishes in the hotels own private cooking school.
Built with traditional local materials, the Spa pavilions are decorated in a contemporary style with Laotian accents using wooden furniture and elegant panelling made of hand woven silk. The Spa offers a full range of face and body treatments including facials, massages, body scrubs, body wraps and packages for individuals and couples. The custom-designed spa treatments are based on traditional Lao herbal remedies aimed at healing and nurturing and use only pure botanical ingredients from organic Lao gardens and local farms. The spa is complimented with by a second swimming pool and steam room.
This is doubtlessly the most luxurious option in town, indeed in the whole country, and often fully booked months in advance. One of the draw backs to this is that early check and late check out are very rarely available so if arriving early in the morning or departing in the evening please take this in to account. It is located slightly out of town but access is easy by bicycle or local taxi. The views are stunning, as are the rooms and service is at a level quite unlike anywhere else in the country, even if that is still a little behind its more switched on neighbours.
