This dive focused resort is set on the idyllic island of Mabul, and although larger than its more famous neighbour Sipadan, you can still walk around the whole island in about an hour. SMART is a great choice for both novice and none divers as there is a great beach and a small village to explore on the island.
The SMART Divers Resort is located in a coconut grove on the south-east side of the island with a view to near-by Sipadan Island. It is made up of 45 wooden duplex chalets with each room featuring two oversized single beds, ceiling fan, flyscreen windows, air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom and a veranda. The public buildings include a main house where meals are taken, an air-conditioned room TV Room and a secure airing shed for storing your equipment at the end of each day. SMART is the only resort in the area with a swimming pool.
Mabul is a great base for divers and none divers alike. There are many different diving experiences, but Mabul is well documented to be the world leader in the new trend of muck diving. And from Mabul you have good access to the different styles of diving offered on both Sipadan and Kapalai.
