Located in 1677 sq miles of virgin jungle, some of the oldest in the world, Taman Negara Park offers an undisturbed diversity of habitats and plant communities. The drive from KL to Kuala Tembeling jetty is 3 hours and from here you take an exciting boat journey deep in to the jungle for just under 3 hours to reach the resort itself.

The resort, overlooking both the Tembeling and Tahan rivers, is made up of a collection of simple wooden chalets spread out around the park headquarters. Each comes equipped with hot and cold showers, air conditioning and ceiling fans. There is a small restaurant that is more than adequate but there are also a few nearby restaurants on the river front that serve excellent Malay food.

There is little in the way of facilities at the resort but there is plenty to keep you occupied for a couple of days. Activities include jungle trekking – the night time jungle walk is not to be missed – rapid shooting, gentle river boat trips and cave exploration.

This is by no means a luxury resort but is at present the best available in this wonderful remote region - and after all you are in the heart of some of the planets oldest forest! Whilst we do not say you will come across tigers and elephants you will certainly get a good idea about their habitat as the excursions are both fun and informative. The accommodation is basic but functional. We recommend staying here only to those with an adventurous spirit that want to get close to nature but at the end of a days exploration like to retire to a resort of relative quality.
