Tanjung Rhu is located on a beautiful beach on the northern tip of Langkawi – with spectacular views to small islands and towards the Thai border. It is the only resort on this part of the island thus ensuring its exclusivity and the privacy of its guests. The resort is approximately 30 minutes by car from the Langkawi International Airport. The resort is well spaced out and has a relaxed ambience.
Each of the 134 rooms is spacious, with timber floors and large windows to take advantage of the tropical breeze and a choice of enchanting garden, pool or sea view. Employing the best of the Asian-Eastern influence, the decor is complemented with upholstery and drapes in soft Thai silk and pure Indian cotton fabrics. All rooms come complete with a sizeable living area and are equipped with LCD TV, DVD and compact disc player, private bar with coffee machine and oversized bath with separate shower.
There is a choice of three exquisite restaurants as well as the option of a private BBQ dinner on the beach served by your very own waiter or you have the option to dine in your room. The Rhu is a fine-dining restaurant with both air-conditioned and alfresco settings serving East-meets-West seafood cuisine accompanied by the soft strains of a serenading string quartet, Sands is a beachfront alfresco casual all-day dining restaurant offering local and western fare whilst Saffron is a popular Mediterranean restaurant with unencumbered views of the stunning sunsets.
The hotel has an excellent spa with a wide ranging treatment list all applied by train professional staff as well as sauna, steam room and fully-equipped gym. With a strong view to taking care of the surroundings the resort only promotes environment-friendly activities in its recreational programs. Non-motorised vehicles such as the hydrobike, sea kayaks, windsurfers and the sleek Catamaran G-Cat are utilised. Windsurfing and sailing lessons are also available.
The Tanjung Rhu is a top quality resort and ideal for anyone who wants to get away from it all. Whilst it is a little isolated there is a choice of recreation, entertainment and dining within the resort. The stair wells leading to the rooms are a little tired but this just increases the wow factor when you are shown in to your room. The resort has a casual and unhurried ambience yet is both very chic and stylish.
