The hotel is located at the foot of Mandalay Hill and faces toward the former Royal Palace and it’s this unique position that affords each and every one of the 206 rooms and suites such stunning views.
All of the many room categories are elegantly appointed but lack any unique style. There are polished wood floors and all the fixtures and fittings you would expect of a traditional four star hotel. There is a good selection of restaurants that serve local, Chinese and International food. The hotel has a swimming pool, with swim up bar, a tennis court and there is even a private 18-hole golf course and driving range adjacent to the hotel. These are complimented with a gymnasium and a small spa.
Oasis does not normally recommend such large, international style hotels but Mandalay is sadly lacking in smaller boutique style properties. The Mandalay Hill Resort is in a wonderful location at the base of the eponymous hill and overlooking the famous pagodas of the former royal palace and this more than makes up for the lack of style.
