A welcome addition to the accommodation scene in Mandalay is the small chic boutique Rupar Mandalar. It is small and country club in style, located on the eastern outskirts of magical Mandalay, a mere 15 minute drive from the city centre.
All 16 rooms and villas are spacious and beautifully appointed with opulent teak and silk furnishings. All rooms come equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, in room safe and tea and coffee making facilities. Whilst the hotel facilities include a free-form swimming pool, tennis court, fitness centre and spa. The resort has a choice of two restaurants that serves gourmet local, Thai, Chinese and European cuisine.
Although a little out of town this new resort offers by far the most stylish accommodation in the city. The low level, spread out design is a welcome break from the high rise alternatives in the city centre. The wooden decoration in all rooms and public areas is a slightly over the top but that said we are sure that this small resort will become a firm favourite with Oasis clients!
