The Ngwe Moe hotel is a relatively new hotel built in 2002 and stands on the banks of the Thanlwin River. The unspectacular and basic rooms are clean and are equipped with satellite TV, minibar, en suite bathrooms and IDD telephone. The hotel has a restaurant serving local and Chinese cuisine, but no other facilities to speak of. It is still the best of the hotels in this wonderful town and it is worth putting up with the basic facilities for a few days to explore this little visited region.
