Sri Lanka - Oasis Highlights

Sri Lanka is blessed with many highlights, below are just a few of our favourite picks.

The Cultural Triangle

Sri Lankaā€™s cultural triangle is home to a remarkable 4 UNESCO World Heritage sites including the cave temples of Dambulla; Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital, Anuradhapura; Polonnarawa, the second ancient capital and the towering Sigiriya rock fortress.

Horton Plains and Worldā€™s End

The wild and mysterious moorlands of Horton Plains are scenically spectacular. An early start is required to reach the viewpoint before the mist sets in mid-morning.

Kandy

Regarded as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy is home to the sacred tooth relic which is said to contain a tooth of the Buddha himself. As well as housing a great range of museums and cultural attractions.

Southern Beaches

Sri Lanka is home to some of Asiaā€™s most spectacular beaches, and with new luxury boutique accommodation opening up it is an alternative and less explored option to South East Asia.

Tea

Renowned the world over for its tea Sri Lanka produces over 300 million kilograms of tea leaves per year which equates to nearly US$1billion and accounts for around 15% of the countryā€™s economy. No visit to Sri Lanka is complete without visiting a tea plantation or at the very least enjoying a fresh brew!
