“Our trip was memorable in many ways; China is a fascinating country full of contrasts. The itinerary was close to perfect for our requirements and the organisation of the tour company in China was faultless. Oasis travel and our consultant were great; plenty of good information, patient, personal communication and very prompt with all their responses to our many questions. We are so pleased we decided to book through them rather than with one of the big tour operators. We saw many large tour groups on our travels and just looked at each other and said thank goodness we’re not with them……. “We had a wonderful holiday-thank you! The hotels were just great- Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap would stand out for great service and a wonderful vibe........ The guides were all quite competent but a couple were very good. On the Vientiane to Luang Prabang leg, Mr Smiley (don’t know his real name) was very engaging and quite fun......... in Siem Reap our guide Yam Rithy was just great. A really interesting and engaging young man who really listened to what we did and didn’t want regarding intel on the temples etc and went out of his way to show us some fascinating things. A proud Cambodian with a heart of gold, he helped make our trip particularly memorable.”

“We made it back to home all in one piece after having thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in China which all went off like clockwork.....We have now seen three tourist locations on the Great Wall and Mutianyu is definitely the best. You were right about being the only westerners in some of the places but we never felt uneasy.....Most people were friendly and I think a bit surprised to see us there at that time of year. The main advantage of January is no crowds at any of the tourist sites - we had long stretches of the Great Wall to ourselves and Mt Wuyi Park was practically empty......Thanks for organising a great holiday.”
