This unique resort is situated in a small picturesque village just fifteen minutes drive from Hua Hin's white sandy beaches, charming town centre, fishing pier and the Kings Royal Palace. The AKA Resort is a magnificent lakeside retreat set in beautiful countryside dotted with rice terraces, tranquil lakes and mountains an easy two hour drive south of Bangkok. The themes at this tranquil resort are relaxation, relaxation and relaxation!
All the secluded villas feature a private infinity pool, sun deck terrace and open-air sunken bath. The unusual rooftop gardens on the larger 1 and 2 bedroom Deluxe Villas provide the ideal setting for a meditative retreat and afford wonderful views of the surrounding quiet countryside. Entrance to your villa is via a personal garden and water pond area over a foot bridge. They are decorated simply in a minimalist modern fashion with light woods and a scattering of local art and convey a feeling of understated luxury and elegance without any way being overpowering.

The signature restaurant, Coustiero, serves modern Mediterranean fare and has deservedly gained a reputation as being one of the best eateries in the area. The décor is simple and elegant with contemporary edge that matches the imaginative food. There are a couple of other dining options serving regional Thai, international and healthy food. Prices in the resort are above average, for even this level of luxury resort, but it is easy enough to make the fifteen minute journey to the plethora of restaurants and cafes in town if you so wish. In villa dining is a romantic option you should take advantage of at least once during your stay.
A reason for many visiting Hua Hin is golf….there are no less than eight major world class golf courses within a 20 minute drive and several championship golf courses within 10 minutes of the Resort to take advantage of. The hotel has a small pool but why bother when you have your own private pool and sun deck? The resort is easily able to help you arrange a whole host of activities such as elephant trekking and jungle safaris if you so wish.
The AKA certainly isn’t for everyone, if you want a lively beachfront resort within walking distance of local restaurants and bars you will need to look at other options. If it’s a calming, serene escape from the outside world where you can relax and rejuvenate in stylish elegant surrounds look no further. Getting back to the resort from town can be tricky at times as local taxi drivers don’t always want to go; we suggest you employ the services of the resorts drivers to assist. There is a second resort (AKA Guti) being built nearby that we have not yet had the opportunity to see but if it is anything near as chic as this it will be equally as successful.
