Ibrik Resort by the River | $$

This Ibrik (there is a second one on South Sathorn Road) is located directly on the Chaopraya Riverbank and within walking distance of Wat Rakang and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) and just a couple of minutes ferry crossing from the ever spectacular Grand Palace. Situated on the Thonburi side of the river, this tiny resort offers guests a chance to sample the real Bangkok right on its doorstep and crossing the river to the many attractions is easily done by river taxi. Being so small, it only has 3 rooms, it can be a little hard to find so an airport transfer for all except Bangkok experts is recommended, but once you have arrived you will know immediately what a gem of a place this is! Each of the 3 rooms is non-smoking and has an en suite bathroom and private balcony. The design is contemporary, mixing modern bathrooms with colonial style furniture and polished concrete floors.

- Minibar / Refrigerator
- Telephone
- In-room safe
There is little in the way of public areas beside the tired lobby area, which doubles as television viewing and reading area and the café, which serves cake and coffee…..however there are a few excellent restaurants nearby. The resort is not suited to anyone with mobility problems as jumping on and off the river taxis may present a problem. Guests have commented that being so close to the river there is early morning noise from the boats, but even taking this in to account Ibrik Resort by the River is one of our favourite places in Bangkok!
