A real Oasis favourite! Old Bangkok Inn is a "boutique inn" that combines the charm of Bangkok's yesteryears with modern amenities and a refreshingly eco-friendly attitude. Conveniently located in Bangkok's Rattanakosin Island, Bangkok's historical and cultural quarters, the Inn is a stone's throw from Bangkok's major historical landmarks. Family run and operated, the property where the Old Bangkok Inn sits was originally a palace bestowed by King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and has been in the family's care for seven generations. Every one of the 10 rooms at the Old Bangkok Inn is equipped with a private en-suite bathroom, satellite television, DVD player, telephone, as well as complimentary in-room PC's with broadband internet connection. It is a fully non-smoking establishment.

Room Descriptions
Lotus Suite
On the ground floor, painted in lotus green, the indoor lotus shower-room is afforded with complimentary in-house lotus scented shampoo and bath gel;
Ground Floor: Private closet and storage area with teak counter and elegant ceramic washbasin; spacious sleeping area, entertainment (Playstation 2 console & DVD player) area and computer corner adorned with handmade lotus sculptures; king size teak base bed with luxurious silk quilt;
Second Floor: Separate bedroom with queen size teak base;
Outdoor Area: Private garden furnished with lounge chair, lotus blossoms, and equipped with an oversized hand-sculptured outdoor lotus tub;

Rose Suite
Ground Floor: Painted in violet pink, the indoor rose shower-room is afforded with complimentary in-house rose scented shampoo and bath gel; Private dressing area with teak counter, elegant ceramic washbasin and hand-painted porcelain swing;
Second Floor: Painted purple and adorned with handmade rose sculptures with spacious sleeping area, entertainment area and computer corner; King size teak base bed with luxurious hand-made silk quilt;
Outdoor Area: Private garden furnished with pygmy rose plants, and equipped with an oversized hand- sculptured outdoor rose tub;

Lemongrass
Graceful queen-size teak canopy bed adorned with luxurious hand-made silk quilt, draped in soft white linen and flanked on both sides by hand sculptured angel lamps.
Hand-painted pictures of lemongrass buds adorn the saffron coloured walls.
A private garden furnished with lounge chairs and lush green tropical plants, equipped with your very own fountain.
Hardwood floor shower-room with teak counter and elegant ceramic washbasin, afforded with complimentary in-house lemongrass scented shampoo and bath gel.

Orchid
Painted in Orchid pink and purple, with a cosy seating area on first floor and private sleeping quarters on the loft level.
Graceful queen-size teak canopy bed adorned with luxurious hand-made silk quilt, draped in gold linen canopy and flanked on both sides by antique lighting from Burma.
Matching antique chests, hand woven baskets and a large wooden flower basin complement the Orchid Room’s charming rustic atmosphere.

Access to the loft sleeping quarters is via quite steep stairs and not suitable for the less mobile.

Jasmine
Painted in Jasmine white, with computer corner on first floor and spacious sleeping and entertainment area on the loft level.
King size teak floor bed with luxurious hand-made silk quilt, flanked on both sides by hand painted murals of wild jasmine flowers.
Snug sitting area decorated with white bed net and teak floor table complement the Jasmine Room’s simple yet elegant tone.

Additionally, when you choose to stay here, you also have the option to directly support the local community and the less privileged in Thailand through the "Support the Community Initiative."
The inn does have a few minor drawbacks, it is hard to find so airport transfers are essential for first time guests, there is no room service or restaurant, there are no public areas (apart from the small lobby where breakfast is served) no swimming pool, access to the mezzanine floor (in Orchid and Jasmine Rooms) is a little difficult and some of the rooms are a little on the small side BUT all that said the green credentials are second to none, the service is personal and atmosphere very relaxed. It has the feel of visiting a family friend and once you have stayed here once you will inevitably stay again next time you’re in Bangkok!
