Kanchanaburi
A couple of hours west of Bangkok are the legendary Bridge on the River Kwai, Hellfire Pass and the Death Railway. But as well as the grisly reminders of WW2 you will also find the tranquillity and beauty of some of Thailand’s best National Parks.
The area is accessible from Bangkok as a day trip but Oasis Travel recommend that you spend at least one night here to fully appreciate the magnificent landscape and charming beauty of Kanchanaburi including several well-known waterfalls, caves which were once inhabited by Neolithic man, pristine national parks, tranquil rivers, virgin forests, and a reservoir. Together, they offer an intriguing experience for first-time or repeat visitors.
Whether it’s fishing, rafting, canoeing, mountain biking, bird-watching, star-gazing, golfing, elephant and jungle trekking, or even living in bamboo rafts, Kanchanaburi takes pride in offering them all.
