The Dewa is located on the finest stretch of Klong Prao beach on the west coast of Koh Chang. It’s rather hard to fit The Dewa in to any particular category as its quirky design is quite unlike anything else in Asia. Thatch is used in conjunction with austere concrete walls to give a very dramatic modern but yet rustic feel that we at Oasis just adore!
Each of 40 deluxe rooms, 17 private villas and 2 grand villas stand proudly and distinctly different from all the competition. Each of deluxe rooms provides a spacious 54sqm. bedroom and unique walk-in bathroom area and a private pool view balcony to take in the sea breeze. The straw covered, hive like, villas are larger and also come with outdoor seating areas. Grand villas are huge and cover 2 stories with the bedroom upstairs affording great sea views and a living space complete with private outdoor Jacuzzi downstairs. Our one possible complaint could be that the beds were a touch on the hard side but that’s probably being overly critical.

The restaurant, with its stunning ocean views, offers a wide selection of both Western and regional Thai food and is innovative, fresh and healthy in style. The less formal resort café is a relaxed area where offers books, magazines, internet access, DVD library, art work and souvenirs as well as light meals and coffee selection are available all day. The food and beverages are also very reasonably priced for a hotel of this category. There are a selection of locally owned bars and restaurants nearby and access to the livelier White Sand beach, with its vast array of eateries and bars, is uncomplicated.
The black tile clad, 700sqm, unique swimming pool is the focal point of the resort. There is ample decking and loungers as well as a swim up bar, perfect for those lazy days. The Spa offers massages and full body treatments, as well as facials, using a homemade range of natural products, oils and salt scrubs. Specialised practitioners are on hand to deliver aromatherapy and reflexology. In addition The Dewa Spa has a sophisticated indoor hydropool. Snorkelling, kayak, canoe, fishing excursions, jungle trekking, elephant trekking, waterfall visits, motorbike rental and speed boat charter service are all on hand and the resort can also arrange dive trips.
It’s difficult to put the design features of this unique resort in to words and it certainly will not suit all tastes. We would say that the resort is best suited to design conscious professionals looking for something a bit out of the ordinary rather than the family market. The uber chic design is edgy and sleek and almost industrial in style. We at Oasis rate this new resort very highly!
