Set nestled within 40 hectares of pristine rainforest this unique resort is situated on the remote island of Koh Kood, in the Gulf of Siam very near the Cambodian border.
Your Soneva Kiri experience starts the moment you step off the plane in Bangkok where you will be met and whisked off on the property’s private plane on the hour flight to the resort. The resort is home to 42 villas of various types (ask your consultant for more info on the various options available) each with its own private butler – ‘Mr or Ms Friday’ who is on hand to cater to your every need throughout your stay. The villas, set along the beach front and hillside are generously sized and immaculately furnished, boasting a spacious living area and sun-soaked decking leading to a stunning private infinity pool. Each villa is fully equipped with every luxury amenity you can think of and even comes with its own buggy enabling guests to easily get around and explore the island.
Embracing the ideology ‘no news no shoes’ the atmosphere is very serene with no formal dress code and guests encouraged to relax and treat the resort like home. For those looking for more than relaxing on the beach you will not be disappointed as there are a variety of facilities and activities including spectacular nature experiences with guided trips to local waterfalls, jungle treks, snorkelling excursions, fishing tours and mountain biking.
Soneva Kiri also boasts its own PADI dive centre and watersport activities, including catamaran sailing, water skiing, wake boarding, snorkelling and diving. For the fitness enthusiasts there is a tennis court, Technogym and Kinesis fitness centre. Those less energetic may like to take advantage of the gardening and cooking classes. To cater to all your massage and treatment needs spend the day at the splendid world-renowned Six Senses Spa.
Come evening time you may like to partake in the star-gazing and astronomy classes at Soneva Kiri’s very own beautiful observatory, or perhaps head to Cinema Paradiso, where classic movies are shown on an immense screen in the outdoor auditorium and guests are served cocktails, popcorn and “gourmet cinema fast-food” whilst watching the film under the stars. Wine tasting in the extremely well-stocked cellar is another popular way to while away an evening.
Kids are well and truly catered for at Soneva Kiri, with their own strictly NO ADULTS allowed area (unless invited!) Fully supervised by qualified staff the kids “den” is equipped with all sorts of fun and games to keep them entertained – it really is the most amazing children’s area that we at Oasis Travel have ever seen.
Foodies will not be disappointed with the resort offering a superb selection of dining options including the “Dining Room” which offers creative Thai and Mediterranean cuisine, “The View” which is the resorts fine dining restaurant offering exquisite Thai fusion and the popular classic Thai restaurant “Benz’s”. The ice-cream parlour and chocolate room are just a couple of other culinary delights hidden around the resort. One if not the most innovative dining experiences that we at Oasis Travel have ever come across is the Soneva Kiri Tree Pod experience. Parties of up to four are magically spirited into your very own “tree house” and served by “flying waiters” to make a truly special evening and in our opinion a must do for all guests.
