This breathtaking luxury resort is set on the stunning Railay Peninsula overlooking the Andaman Sea. Close proximity to Phuket and famous islands like Phi Phi as well as the stunning seascape of Phang Nga Bay make Rayavadee the perfect base for discovering this enchanted corner of the Kingdom. The resort is only accessible by an exhilarating boat ride taking you past the majestic scenery of the Phranang Peninsula.
The resort has 98 charming two-story pavilions and 4 luxurious private villas spread over 26 acres of coconut groves and tropical gardens bordered by three beaches. The award-winning architecture blends with its natural surroundings to create a unique atmosphere reminiscent of an idyllic southern Thai village. There is a good selection of accommodation to choose from including exclusive secluded Villas and Spa Pavilions. But no matter which room category you choose you will not be disappointed as each is spacious and stylish with polished wood decor, richly-coloured fabrics and hand-crafted details throughout as well as an outdoor terrace with seating. The circular design of the pavilions blends perfectly with the resort’s natural surroundings, echoing the rounded cliffs of the rock formations that characterize the area’s unique landscape.
There is a choice of 4 splendid restaurants serving Mediterranean and Thai dishes. Our particular favourite is The Grotto which nestles under an ancient limestone cliff on the edge of Phranang Beach. A “smart casual” dress code applies at some of the outlets.
At the Spa innovative therapists continually create new treatments and refine core concepts to create therapies that impart a deeply felt sense of well being and relaxation. These offerings include revitalizing facials and scrubs, energizing body wraps, a variety of soothing massages and an assortment of salon treatments that promise relaxation, vitality, balance and inner healing. There are also squash and tennis courts, a full compliment of water sports and a fitness centre all complimented by one of the most stunning infinity pools in the country. Day trips to the surrounding islands are a must on any stay!
In our humble opinion Rayavadee is one of the benchmark properties that all its competitors aspire emulate. Although at the top end of most people’s budget it offers value for money, superb service, fabulous food and a location that just cannot be surpassed. Please note that one of the resorts 3 beaches is often cited in “the world’s top 10 beach list” and as all beaches are public in Thailand is often frequented by day trippers arriving on noisy boats. But even taking this in to consideration we can not recommend Rayavadee highly enough.
