Named after the ship that first carried Charles Darwin to the Galapagos, the MV Beagle is an elegant 105 ft. steel-hulled motor sailor with teak decks and beautifully designed interiors.
Full of character, there are warm and intimate communal areas that spill onto the outside deck and include a saloon and bar.
There are 7 cosy cabins, all en-suite and fully air-conditioned to cater to a maximum of 14 passengers. The cabins are warmly furnished and feature double lower and single upper bunks overlooking the sparkling Pacific through small portholes. In addition, there is smaller double cabin also used for single travellers.
The food is hearty and tasty, a blend of Ecuadorian and continental cuisine served out on deck or in the saloon depending on the weather.
The Beagle offers two seven night itineraries, a north-west and south-central islands circuit which circumnavigate the Galapagos archipelago. Daily excursions are led by the resident naturalist guide and include nature walks, swimming, snorkelling and panga rides. Snorkelling equipment are wetsuits are provided free of charge.
The MV Beagle is a beautiful looking sailing boat and ideal for those looking for an intimate Galapagos cruise. Space is limited and the cabins cosy yet the feedback is consistently excellent and the boat is excellent value for money. It would particularly suit people who enjoy the feel of a traditional sailing boat.
