Sprinkled with coconut trees that are the island’s namesake, Kurumba was the first private island resort in The Maldives. Tropical verdant gardens, white powder sand beaches, and a vibrant House Reef are all things that go to make up the hallmarks of this classic Maldivian resort.
There are a total of 180 rooms split in to eight different categories, making sure they cater for everyone’s tastes and budgets. All the rooms are spacious, even the lead in category Superior Rooms are a very generous 70msq. And all come complete with balconies or terraces and are within a few seconds stroll to the beach. In room amenities include all the mod cons associated with a five star resort such as hair dryer - mini bar - in room safe - IDD telephone - high-speed internet access - satellite TV - tea & coffee making facilities - 02 daybeds (01 in room, 01 in terrace). Bathrooms are partially open with dual wash basins and free standing bathtubs. The signature accommodation are the 74 Deluxe Beachfront Bungalows. These come complete with bedrooms furnished with a king-size four-poster bed, a window wall with a view of the beach, ocean or manicured gardens, luxurious bathrooms with dual washbasins, a glass-walled shower, a free-standing bathtub, and an open-air sand and stone floored shower garden. There is a selection of villas with indoor and outdoor relaxing areas, some with private swimming pool also available.
With nine different restaurants to choose from that offer cuisine from around the world, including local specialties, Kurumba is a gourmet experience on a par with any other in The Maldives. Whether it’s an intimate candlelit dinner for two on the beach, an indulgent evening in a specialty restaurant or a wholesome buffet, you are spoilt for choice. The beach bar features regular live entertainment. Half board and full board packages are available on request.
Recreational activities includes a catamaran and wind surf school, parasailing with platform boat, waterskiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, fun tubes, sailing safaris with a skipper, 3 tennis courts and a fully equipped gym. Please note that some activities are charged locally. After all the exercise there is a great spa that has 8 treatment rooms, Aroma Steam Room, Hydrotherapy Pool in which to relax.
For those travelling with kids the resort offers baby cots and rollaway beds (subject to occupancy in room), Snorkeling and Swimming equipment for younger guests, Children's menus in all restaurants and In-Room Dining, a Small play area for Toddlers at the Sports Center and a babysitting service for kids 3 years or older with 24 hours notice.
