The Pilgrimage Village is situated in quiet countryside in a rustic village setting surrounding by lush tranquil gardens approximately 5 kilometres or 10 minutes drive from the attractions in Hue centre. But that it is away from the noise and traffic of the city works very much to its advantage – and besides there is a complimentary shuttle to and from town all day.
The rooms are in small clusters in a perfect natural setting. They all have private balconies, satellite television, individual in room safe and all the other expected 5 star amenities. Oasis recommends upgrading room category at this hotel in particular as whilst there is nothing at all wrong with the cheaper superior villas the very little extra to upgrade to the deluxe villas is excellent value for money.
The resort is home to 2 restaurants and 3 bars. Junrei Restaurant is one of central Vietnam’s largest traditional houses and has been crafted in an ancient style using authentic imperial columns. The spacious restaurant serves Vietnamese fusion cuisine as well as specialty dishes of Hue. The Valley restaurant serves a more familiar menu of Western favourites.
The hotel has a good spa offering a selection of treatments form around the world. It also has an excellent cooking course where you can learn the secrets of how to make the perfect spring rolls and authentic Vietnamese soups that will be sure to impress the neighbours on your return!
In our opinion the Pilgrimage Village is the best choice hotel in this area. Yes, it is a distance from the town centre but to be honest there is very little reason to go in to Hue in the evenings and both the hotel restaurants are excellent. The quite location is a bonus as city centre hotels can be very noisy.
