This is a legendary hotel, filled with history and sentiment of the city of Saigon. Affectionately called ‘The Grand Lady’, the Hotel Continental was once considered home for her guests – mainly diplomats and news correspondents.
Today the hotel retains its character and offers very good value for those on a budget, located in the heart of Saigon on Dong Khoi Street. Founded in 1880 but recently completed a renovation, this old French Colonial style building features expansive rooms, high ceilings, cool covered exterior corridors and a charming courtyard interior.
All rooms are 4 metres in height and average from 40 to 100 square metres, and overlook the street of Dong Khoi and the Opera. Some rooms overlook the courtyard garden and there are suites that could comfortably accommodate families. Room facilities are basic but adequate, and the staff are very friendly and amenable.
