Algeria - Oasis Highlights

There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must seeā€™s!

Constantine

Constantine, known as the city of bridges, is an exciting place of steep cliffs and occupies a rocky diamond-shaped plateau surrounded, by a precipitous gorge through the eastern side of which flows the Rhumel River.Ā Here you will discover the highest setting for one of Algeria’s most labyrinthine type casbahs. The gorge is crossed by the el-Kantara Bridge, a modern 130-metre structure built on the site of previous bridges. North and south of the town are, respectively, a suspension bridge and a viaduct.

Djanet

Situated in the Tassili National Park, Djanet borders Niger on its southern border. There are no urban buildings in the Djanet oasis, just tranquillity and the peace this area provides. The inhabitants are friendly and humble and take traditional care of their visitors and travellers. The greatest attraction is the Tassili Nā€™Ajjerā€™s fifteen thousand rock paintings, and its sheer-sided canyons, and natural springs.

Algiers

Nicknamed, Alger La Blanche, these glistening white buildings give the impression of sloping up from the sea, located on the Mediterranean, in the Central region of the country, take time to view a number of surrounding islets turned into part of the port.
