Angola - Oasis Highlights

There are so many highlights in this fascinating country that it is impossible to list them all here. Our travel consultants will discuss your interests and be able to put a specific itinerary together for you, but below are a few must seeā€™s!

CALENDULA FALLS

The Calendula Falls lie in the course of the Lucala River and are one of the highest in Africa, dropping 101 m. Although the waterfalls outside Angola are not yet well known, they are among Angola’s most impressive natural wonders.

LUANDA

Luanda is a city of stark contrasts and an African metropolis. Located on the Atlantic coast, it is the countryā€™s largest city and one of the busiest seaports. From the high rise, of modern buildings to lean-to huts built to accommodate people in this rapidly expanding city. Founded in 1576 by Paulo Dias de Novais and settled by the Portuguese, Luanda became the administrative centre of the colony and a major outlet for slave traffic to Brazil. Take a stroll down The Marginal, Luanda’s beautiful promenade, perhaps the most alluring spot of all. When the midday heat has passed, people, head to it and the beach.

VIEWPOINT OF THE MOON

The Miradouro da Lua (Viewpoint of the Moon) is a set of cliffs 40 km south of Luanda, in the Samba district, in Angola. Over time, erosion caused by wind and rain created this eerie lunar landscape we can see today
