There are 55 spacious suites spread across 8 categories, all warmly furnished and equipped with a private sitting area with sofa or side chairs and table and flat-screen TV’s. All faeture picture windows or portholes enabling passengers to enjoy breathtaking polar vistas while Deluxe and Promenade Suites have direct access to the outer deck via a sliding glass door. Pick of the bunch, the Veranda Suite has its own private veranda with sweeping panoramic views.
The communal spaces straddle three decks across the stern of the ship and comprise of a spacious restaurant/dining room, a bar/lounge with live entertainment, a well-stocked library and a top-deck observation area. When weather permits, meals are also served out on the al-fresco Lido deck.
The Island Sky delivers a range of exciting cruises from classic peninsula trips to Polar Circle crossings and longer voyages out to the Falkland Islands and magnificent South Georgia Island. Both camping and kayaking are offered on certain departures as well as a “Citizen Science Program” where passengers can participate in various real-world scientific research projects.
