WHY WE LIKE THIS HOTEL

The Pousada Aguape is a traditional family-run farm and eco-lodge perched on the southern edge of the Pantanal. The ranch has been in the same family for over 150 years and although certainly rustic, a sense of rich pioneering history flows throughout. Guests eat together in the open-sided dining room and meals are a hearty mix of traditional dishes served buffet style. Much of the produce is sourced from the farm and you may even sample local delicacies such as piranha soup.
There is a small pool for escaping the afternoon sun or you may prefer to laze in a hammock or simply retire to the homely lounge and sink into a sofa with a book in hand. The surrounding grounds boasts an incredible array of wildlife especially birds and Aguape offers daily excursions by land and water led by experienced guides to explore the area. For keen riders, the horses are excellent, testament to the ranch’s rich heritage and guests may even like to lend a hand on the farm to experience traditional “pantaneiro” culture. The Pousada Aguape is by no means luxurious but offers a rich slice of the Pantanal. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and is an excellent base for enjoying the wildlife.
