EKOM NKAM AND METCHE FALLS

Featured in the movie, Greystoke the Legend of Tarzan, Ekom-Nkam Waterfall is located in a magnificent rainforest, eighty metres high and located thirty kilometres from Bafang. Metche Falls, another amazing waterfall charged with history. Located on the road to Mbouda, and across from the water treatment facility, this is the location where the French colonial army tossed the locals opposed to the government into the waterfalls during the dark years of Cameroon. These waterfalls have become a place of pilgrimage and a unique monument to honour those who lost their lives fighting for the independence of the country.

CAMPO MA’AN NATIONAL PARK

Campo Ma’an National Park located in the South of Cameroon’s, entire area consists of four logging concessions, an agroforestry zone, and an agro-industrial zone with rubber and palms plants. Created in 2000, Campo-Ma’an is a nature lover’s paradise with 80 species of mammals, including endangered elephants, gorillas and chimpanzees, as well as at least 302 species of birds, 122 species of reptiles, more than 80 species of amphibians, plant and flower species and is well-known for its rich biodiversity.

YAOUNDE

Spread over seven hills, the developing city of Yaoundé features an array of art deco, independence-era and 1970s government buildings in various vivacious styles, and amid the damaged pavements, you can feel the confident flourish of Cameroon’s energetic people going about their daily business.

This is the centre of Cameroon’s government and administration, and one of the most appealing sights are workers wearing ministry uniforms, with brightly tailored African fabrics depicting their various departments.
