State-of-the-art technology amidst breathtaking, natural scenery, the Chilean company “Nomads of the Sea” takes expedition cruising to a whole new level with their MV Atmosphere. Constructed in 2006 to the highest specifications, the 46m long ship explores unchartered Patagonian fjords and islands of Chile’s southern archipelago by land, sea and even air.
Cutting edge design blends seamlessly with contemporary fittings conceived by the renowned Chilean designer Enrique Concha, while floor to ceiling windows breathe light and space throughout. Stylish, communal spaces abound with an open plan lounge, bar and dining room while at the end of each day, guests can take advantage of the hot tubs, sauna and range of massages. In addition, the Atmosphere carries a host of kayaks, jet boats, rafts and zodiacs while a Bell 407 helicopter takes pride of place on the stern.
There are 14 cosy cabins on 2 decks, all simple yet warmly furnished including 2 larger premium cabins on deck 4.
Gourmet cuisine, designed by celebrated chef Guillermo Rodríguez, combines exquisite Chilean seafood including salmon, grouper, abalone and king crab with traditional Patagonian lamb and beef, all accompanied by carefully chosen wine.
The Atmosphere offers week long wildlife and fly-fishing expeditions into the spectacular fjords south of Puerto Montt. Accompanied by highly specialized guides, guests are whisked off to remote bays, islands and trails by jet boat or helicopter to explore the magnificent wilds. There are no set itineraries per se as all programs are carefully tailored to the clients’ interests and subject to climatic conditions and wildlife sightings. Activities on offer range from bird-watching, hiking and kayaking to photography and whale-watching. Towards the end of the season, heli-skiing takes over offering guests the chance to descend, untouched Patagonian peaks.
