Dead Sea Israel

Israel - Southern Israel

One of the unique natural phenomena on earth, this crevice in the earthā€™s crust is part of the Great Rift Valley, allowing the waters of the River Jordan to flow southwards into a lozenge-shaped lake at its lowest point.

With no other outlet, the rays of a blazing sun evaporate the water where its mineral content is highly concentrated, and it is this density of minerals and salt makes it impossible to sink into the sea, floating effortlessly on the waterā€™s surface.
