About 56km off the East coast in the South China Sea lies the alluring tropical holiday paradise of Tioman Island. Acclaimed as one of the best island getaways in the world, Tioman was the location of the Hollywood musical 'South Pacific' in 1959. Known for many years by divers the warm waters and good visibility make Tioman a paradise for underwater enthusiasts. You will find astonishing sights such as vivid gorgonian sea fans, staghorn corals, nudibranchs and delightfully sculptured sea sponges. Snorkellers can enjoy in swimming alongside huge Napoleon Wrasse, Golden Striped Trevally, Bumphead Parrotfish and shoals of Fusiliers. Dive courses for al levels are readily available. There are several villages scattered around the coastline each offering a different and unique atmosphere. Tioman's lush greenery is home to an impressive variety of plants and small animals, including butterflies, monitor lizards, deer and monkeys. The island's granite formations also make for first-rate rock-climbing expeditions.
