Travelled to Peru, Ecuador & the Galapagos

Just wanted to say a huge thank you. This years holiday has been 4 to 5 years in the making, it was to be a 5 year celebration and reunion of our 2015 trip. Unfortunately Covid delayed it by 2 years! But we were there, we achieved it and basked in the perfection of it all. Thanks heaps

Let’s start with our accommodation, Villa Barranco in Lima, stunning, beautiful restored 1920’s home lovingly restored to a 9 bedroom hotel only 5 years ago and our hosts Julio and Frank were so helpful and very charming. Gocta Lodge, what a location, stunning vista of the falls, manicured grounds complete with resident llamas and hummingbirds, I don’t think there would be a person anywhere that could not help but feel totally relaxed here. Hotel Kentitambo in Leymebamba, words can’t describe the essence of this hotel. Picture perfect grounds with an abundance of flowers and even more hummingbirds! The meals were amazing, we quickly realised that we wouldn’t be losing any weight on this trip.

The Beluga was yet another thank you moment. The fact that we were in the Galápagos Islands was surreal but to be experiencing it as a guest on board the Beluga was sheer magic. The crew were fabulous the meals were fabulous and the islands were unique and very special.

It was so hard to say which accommodation was our favourite until we arrived at Hacienda San Agustin de Callo circa 1440 This was the most amazing accommodation any of us have ever experienced, we would have happily stayed forever. No exaggeration! We had our very own 3 bedroom cottage with open fireplaces in all rooms, we got to eat amazing meals in the Inca dining room and snuggle up in the lounge with Lady, the well loved Labrador. We revelled in our Llama welcome along with the other guests while feeling that to our host Gabriel we were the only guests! Such an amazing manager.

Of course a holiday such as ours could never happen without our guides. They were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble to them and our comfort and safety was always considered.  Some we only had for half a day, Jenny in Lima but her knowledge and enthusiasm was inspiring, if we hadn’t already loved Lima we would after spending time with Jenny. Our Cesares in Trujillo to Chiclayo excellent driver and an expert guide and so happy they had the same name, made life easy! We became very familiar with the Huacas of the sun and the moon, Chan Chan and the Lady of Cao. Amazing history! Mitzi was our guide in Chiclayo, a walking encyclopaedia on the Lords of Sipan, and we will be forever in her debt for recommending that us old  girls hired horses to get to Gocta falls. Julio was our guide from Chiclayo to Chachapoyas and Senor Hegel was our driver, and what an amazing driver he was! Julio was a treasure trove of information and had an excellent sense of humour, our efforts in human exertion were always rewarded with sublime or addiction moments, chocolates he’d brought along to share when we reached Grocta or the Sarcophagi! In the Galapagos our guide was Karla, she was a powerhouse of enthusiasm. She shared her love of the islands, each unique and she inspired us to want to do and experience everything we could in such a short time. Miriam was our next amazing guide and Fernando was our driver. Ecuador was a surprise not sure what we expected but it surpassed anything we could have hoped for. The metropolis of Quito to the pristine beauty of Cotopaxi! It’s so good to see a country through the eyes of people that know it and love it! Our final guide was Christian who met us in Cuenca, what a fabulous, beautiful city and with Christian’s knowledge we learned so much about this cosmopolitan city that was once a rest place on the Inca highway from the coast to the highlands. On route to Guayaquil with did a walk through Cajas national park and experienced the beauty of the high altitude lakes area. Fabulous!

So thank you Ed and thank you Nick for all your efforts in organising what was another unforgettable  and once in a lifetime trip!

Travelled to Vietnam & Cambodia

We loved the whole experience! Our guides were wonderful: prompt, friendly, informative with very good English, particularly Nanh in Hoi A and Hue, Quoc in HCMC and Vaanak in Siem Riep. We particularly loved the garden house in Hue; wandering through the Hmong village near Mai Chau; the cooking class with Chef Ay and the lunch with the veteran in Hanoi, and the whole experience in Siem Riep and the Kulen mountains. (We haven’t received  Ay’s recipes yet however!).

We had a wonderful time! Thanks for a marvellous, unforgettable and very well organised trip!

Travelled to Sri Lanka

Just checking in to let you know we had a terrific time in Sri Lanka, we loved the country and its people, all of us were particularly smitten with the cultural triangle.

Thanks for your seamless assistance and careful guidance.

Travelled to Morocco

I have travelled to over 90 countries and the planning and execution of Oasis travel was unbelievable! Great value for money, excellent driver and vehicle, top hotels in every location and best of all we had an amazing experience. A lot to be said about someone to organise your journey and it being better than you can imagine.

Travelled to South America

Just got home , what a fantastic holiday . All the hotels chosen  were top notch . We also enjoyed all the restaurants you recommended. Our guides and drivers were all fantastic and we had an amazing time . We were lucky with the weather in Peru we actually had mostly fine weather and didn’t miss out on anything . We particularly enjoyed the accommodation in sacred valley . The staff at that resort were outstanding. The hotel in Cartagena was beautiful. The only downfall was due to latam / qantas on flight home. We landed in Sydney airport with limited time to catch our domestic flight home to Brisbane . We had to pass immigration and customs and collect our bags . The airport was a absolute madhouse. When we reached the qantas transfer desk they told us that latam had not arranged for us to be on next available flight to Brisbane . So we had to go to the latam desk in the departures hall and discus with them. on our arrival at the desk there was a 2 hour wait to speak to anyone as there was over 30 passengers with the same issue. We didn’t get home till 5 hours after our allocated original time. All in all , fantastic trip and we know it is nothing to do with oasis that this happened. Thanks again we truly had a great time over there and loved all the hotels etc .

Travelled to Argentina

Thanks for the note and apologies we haven’t been in contact sooner. We had an amazing time. The tour was great and the main tour leader was fantastic - very knowledgeable and down to earth guy. We had a couple of tour leaders during the eclipse tour and they were both great. I can’t take credit for the eclipse shot, it was taken by a guy who came along with all the required equipment. The location we saw it from was isolated but therefore not crowded and overlooked the Andes - incredible! Also included a photo of the tour (we’re 2nd and 3rd from the right - I’m the short one), a tourist shot from Igassu and Valparaiso. Tim and I can’t thank you enough for the holiday we had.

Travelled to Argentina

Thank you for arranging such an amazing holiday to Argentina for us. We had the best time and really enjoyed the diversity in the landscapes from Salta to Iguazu then the wetlands. The beautiful people and delicious wine and food. Such a wonderful country now we need to go back and see the south! Thanks again, the itinerary was perfect for us.

Travelled to South America

We’re back in sunny Adelaide, safe and sound, even though we didn’t get home exactly as planned (thanks, Qantas). This is another big, big thank you to you from the two of us. Your itinerary was spot on, and your insights into the idiosyncrasies of South American airlines were right on the money! The only thing we would change (perhaps) is the accommodation in Mendoza… the management, staff and location of Cavas Wine Lodge were superb (big thanks to Bernie, our driver and guide), but the villas themselves suffered from an absence of ceiling fans and window screens… which meant we missed out on the beautiful nighttime breezes from the Andes, and had to listen to a noisy A/C. If we were to return to Mendoza, we would probably look at staying at The Vines Resort instead. But seriously, this is the only accommodation we would change: Algodon Mansion, Hotel Puerto Valle and Hub Portena were all completely fabulous. Scenic Eclipse surpassed all our expectations: fabulous suite, fabulous restaurants, and fabulous expedition (‘Discovery’) team members.

Travelled to Vietnam

We had a great trip thank you very much and all went very well. We loved the hotel in Hanoi and really enjoyed the resort in Tam Coc – but it was all very good.

We also went on a street food tour organised by the hotel in Hanoi and that was also good. The lecture by the restoration architect in Hoi An was very interesting.

In HCMC we also treated ourselves to Luke Nyugen restaurant Vietnam House.

Thank you for organising the trip – it was great.

Kay & Ian (VIC 2020)

Travelled to Vietnam

You took our central experience theme of food and created an itinerary that delivered on that in a quality way and crossed a number of different types of experiences. Organising the food blogger tour was a stroke of genius because not only was he fantastic and the food amazing but it also got us out walking on the street with confidence.

The cooking school was one of the best delivered tourism experiences I’ve ever enjoyed. It was structured really well with multiple parts going to the markets and travelling up the river and the chef and food was really great.

We loved Salinda Resort on Phu Quoc which had the absolutely best breakfast buffet and the service was excellent.

The vesper tour in Saigon was amazing and once again delivered really well and we’ll never forget the melt in the mouth dessert spring rolls from the street vendor.

You gave us a Vietnam itinerary with excellent balance between quality tours and enough time and space for us to do our own discoveries.

We all had the best holiday!

Travelled to Japan

Absolutely wonderful trip, thank you.  Everything went like clockwork.   Really liked the mix of hotels, from the boutique Ginza to start to the Park/art back in Tokyo (great contrast, as you always do).

We had four guided days and all days exceptional.  All guides, friendly, punctual, thoughtful, knowledgeable – could not fault them.  The Kyoto guide had to re-jig the day as was wet due to typhoon rains to the east and he did a fabulous job - we had a great mix of things, including some fabric painting.  First guide in Tokyo was excellent in getting our train seats booked – we did comment how much more difficult it would have been doing it ourselves.   Pick up at airport and drop off courteous, friendly, organised.

Self-guided days were assisted by local company’s app Really enjoyed everything but especially the island off Hiroshima and Kanazawa (excuse spelling).   Ryokan a delight…. That said, glad to get back to sitting on higher, western style chairs ….

The station hotels, especially in Kyoto, magnificent. Service exceptional and proximity (as with Kanazawa hotel) to station was very useful.   The bag forwarding worked a treat, no hiccups (I see now how important that it is travelling by train).

Enjoyed the walk to from Tsumago to Magome that was “modestly” challenging in parts.

All up, excellent as always with Oasis.  We were a little naïve, this being our first trip to Japan – expecting less calm and courtesy – another cultural and learning experience.

Travelled to Sri Lanka

We can say in all honesty the 18-day tour went off without any issues whatsoever.  Many aspects of the itinerary surpassed our expectations.

Rod D and Oasis were most knowledgeable, flexible and understanding in preparing an itinerary that meets our specific needs and wants and then dealing with the unanticipated and unfortunate events in Sri Lanka prior to our departure

SriLanka has a great diversity in geographies and experiences; high-lands, national parks and tropical beaches, historical sites and cultural features, along with a great variety of high quality, good value accommodation, but one consistency was the friendliness of the people and their welcoming engagement with travellers.

All the hotels recommended and selected for us by Oasis were excellent.  In particular, the boutique Teardrop properties Goatfell and Fort Bazar were outstanding and world-class.  Of the larger properties, Cinnamon Lodge at Habarana and Anatara Peace Haven were standouts.  The variety made for nice contrasts.

David & Michelle (NSW, 2019)

Travelled to Morocco

Having engaged Oasis on previous occasions when travelling to Chile, Antarctica, China and Tibet, I expected their usual high standard when they arranged my trip to Morocco. Once again, Oasis came through. A wonderful trip, well-balanced itinerary, superb vehicles, drivers and guides along with outstanding accommodation. Thank you.

Travelled to Colombia

As usual our holiday to Colombia was amazing! All in all we enjoyed every day and your guides and the hotels were terrific. We did not care much for Bogota but Cartagena full of colour, music, the dancers in the square were incredible I just wanted to join in! Villa de Leyva, enchanting!! We visited the salt mine, the terracotta house and the fósil museum. On the way to Bogota we did some steep walking up to the amazing lake on top of hill where the Spanish could not found the gold they new it was there. What an amazing people lived there all these years ago!! Thanks Ed! Once again you have delivered a truly beautiful holiday for us.

Isabel & Alfred (NSW, 2019)

Travelled to Southern Africa

We are now back from our African trip so please find some feedback for you.

First of all it was a well organised holiday and we had a fantastic time thanks to you and Oasis Travel. overall we did everything that we wanted to and our expectations were well and truly met.

All of the transfers went really well. The highlight of the Cape Town Tours was the Cape Fusion Tour where we spent a whole day visiting food venues - absolutely fascinating and highly recommended. We did not make it up Table Mountain on this day as the weather was bad but it didn't matter.

Botswana was mind blowing - and i can't recommend it enough - everything was superb - the accommodation, the guides, the food, the wildlife (including birds) and the commitment to conservation. The only animals we didn't see were rhinos, buffalo and hyenas (but we heard them and saw their tracks). The hotel in Victoria Falls was excellent - a good location, a very nice room, high quality food and the staff were very good. An added bonus was the visits onto the hotel lawns by a warthog family and the local elephant. The helicopter ride over the Falls was spectacular and really helps to appreciate the size of what you are looking at from the ground.

Overall truly fantastic so thanks again - a memorable trip.

Travelled to Sri Lanka

We had a wonderful time. Our guide was excellent. The Pineapple Villa was a top pick. We were the only guests. Staff were very nice and looked after us. Beautiful spot with a pool. Lovely private colonial house.

The Mudhouse, people and accommodation, was excellent.

All up it was a fantastic adventure. Would do it all again. Thanks to your company for organising everything, we never had one problem and the itinerary was very well thought out.

Travelled to Sri Lanka

Once again I would like to express my thanks for organising a wonderful trip to Sri Lanka for myself and my group of girl friends.
We all enjoyed every aspect of the trip and can only speak highly of the guide / driver we had, who was a lovely person and very helpful throughout the trip. Could you please pass on our thanks for his services.
Following our discussion / catch up last week I wanted to send you the details of the place we went in Polonnaruwa for a very delicious lunch. It was enhanced by a beautiful location looking out over rice paddy fields as we enjoyed eating a Sri Lankan feast.  Anyone that enjoys food and a nice venue would be very happy to come here. The details are: Priyamali Gedara for a Farmer Lunch. The location is a little bit off the beaten track but it was worth it.
I think it would be fair to say I would love to return one day to Sri Lanka with the family. This is a beautiful country with so much to see and explore and the food exceeded my expectations.

Another great holiday through Oasis. This is the third time we have used your company and everything has gone like clockwork. We had a great driver and excellent guides.

Alan & Jan (NSW, 2019)

Travelled to Sri Lanka

We had a fabulous time. The holiday definitely met or exceeded our expectations.

We were so lucky on our safari to see over 100 mother and baby elephants. Capped off as we were about to head towards leaving the park with at least 20 of them drinking from the creek. It was such a rare sight that the driver and guide were videoing it as well as us!!  Definitely a highlight. The other highlight was our cooking course in Galle, so much fun.

We loved all the hotels, our driver/guide was great and very protective of us......We all agreed that if we had had more time the only thing we would change is that we would have loved one more day at Water Garden Sigiriya and The Kandy House just to relax and enjoy what the hotels had to offer.

Although we only mention a couple of highlights it really was an amazing holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed all the experiences, the hotels, the food and the people.

Travelled to Vietnam

We arrived home from our Vietnam trip on Friday. I want to thank and congratulate you on a job exceedingly well done. From your planning and advice right through to the on the ground execution by your partners I could not have been more pleased.  Accommodation excellent, from both a comfort and location perspective. Transport and guides – again outstanding - absolute punctuality, pleasant and informative and could not do enough to assist. The "D Cars" were great.

Highlights – without a doubt the Sampan on the Mekong – just a unique and wonderful experience, should be a standard inclusion on a Vietnam tour.  The other was the Vespa tour in Ho Chi Minh - again an absolutely unique and fun experience. A must do for anyone travelling there .

Finally, value for money - outstanding!

Again than you for your professionalism and fantastic service. If we are travelling to Asia again in the future I will certainly be back in touch.

Thank you for the wonderful job you did on arranging our trip to Japan. Everything worked well and we were happy with the results. I don't know if we'll go back to Japan but we'll remember it as a significant trip in our nomadic life.

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

I just wanted to put into writing my appreciation for another amazing holiday! The itinerary was perfect and all your organisation and attention to detail made our recent holiday to Chile/Argentina totally fantastic. Janice and I loved every minute As I said to you on the phone, it was very different from Peru in 2015 and Guatemala in 2017. This holiday was totally about the location and the scenery. And what spectacular scenery it was! From the vibrant colourful Valparaiso to the unforgettable sunsets of the Atacama. The raw beauty of Carretera Austral and the Marbel Caves to the totally breathtaking haunting beauty and fierce wind of Patagonia. Then there were the glaciers, Grey glacier and Moreno glacier so totally different but equally spectacular. The sound of ice cracking and the hollow echo as it hits the water, will be embedded in my memory forever. Iguazu was awesome, the force of the water and the roar as it cascaded into the river, great photos and videos! To end our trip in Buenos Aires was just right!

We had some amazing adventures, speedboating under Iguazu, driving the Carretera Austral, as passengers, witnessing the sunrise at El Tatio Geysers, well worth the 5am start. Coming across a Puma kill in Patagonia. The penguin colony in the straits of Magellan and Ruta del fin del Mundo! And of course getting back on horseback after 30 years. just like riding a bike! Not quite. Thank you Ed. We are now looking forward to 2020 and trip number 4.

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

Went very well thanks. Really loved Patagonia (and Antarctica was just amazing!). In Patagonia we were extremely fortunate with the weather - both in Torres del Paine, Calafate and El Chalten. Managed to see all the massifs and the two glaciers in all their glory! Even managed hike to the towers in Chile and Fitzroy in El Chalten!. Probably had a day too much in Torres and El Chaltern but didn't mind (hotel in El Chaltern really good!!). G20 was bit of an issue especially as the ferries to Uruguay were shut but in reflection we should have just gone straight home anyway  as after Antarctica anything else was flat and we were a bit homesick by then. Very glad you said to make that last! Really liked hotel in Santiago btw - very small but that Burrito (?) district is great. Last year in Santiago we didn't like it but think that was because of hotel location - this time really enjoyed our one night there and could easily have done another. So thanks again for putting it all together for us! We really appreciate your hard work!

Travelled to South America

I thought I would let you know that the holiday all went really well and we loved it.  Thank you so much for arranging it. All of the hotels were great, the guides and drivers were all excellent and very helpful, all pick ups worked really well after our first miss at Santiago, and the tours and flights all went brilliantly.  We even had an unexpected bonus as the flight home took us over Antarctica in brilliant sunshine.  Even the cabin crew were excited and taking photos. We were also exceptionally lucky in seeing five wild Pumas in Patagonia - one walked right round our van. So many memories, videos and photos that I think we will still be sorting out and editing them for a long time to come. We are very grateful to you for all of the effort you went to and for your support.  I suspect that we will not be undertaking such a big holiday again for a few years, but if and when we do we will certainly be back to you.

Basil and Ann (NSW 2018)

Travelled to South America

We want to thank you very much for organising our wonderful holiday. Everything worked so well with all our connections, guides, flights and rental cars. I thought I might let you know our thoughts on the accommodation etc, just for your future clients. We loved: Hotel B Arts, Inkaterra (Sacred Valley), La Casona (Cusco), Titilaka (Puno), Tierra Atacama, Antumalal (Pucon), Hotel AWA (Puerto Varas), Estancia Chacabuco, Entrehelios Lodge (Tortel), Hotel Arakur (Ushuaia), Awasi Patagonia, Hotel das Cataratas (Iguassu), and Hotel Fasano (Rio de Janeiro). The hotels in Bolivia were good but not to the same standard as the above. La Casa de Eugenia in San Martin de los Andes was just a guest house, and Estancia Peuma Hue (Bariloche) was in a beautiful area but the service was not terribly good. Maybe they have a different standard in Argentina. We loved our boat trips both in the Amazon and Patagonia, meeting some lovely fellow travellers on the way. The Andean explorer was fabulous too. So all in all a fabulous trip and many happy memories.

It is hard to choose a highlight. We really enjoyed the Aqua expeditions trip on the  Amazon. Fabulous boat, great organization, small numbers and good food. Buenos Aires was a revelation to me. It is a really well planned city, and we had our best guide for the whole trip on our city tour. We were able to get out on our own and explore, even do a bit of shopping. We were very pleased you were able to change flights etc because of the G20 before we left. Some other travelers were not so lucky. The drive from Torres del Paine to El Calafate was a long day, but the flight was good to BA. The drive on the Carretera Austral was quite challenging, but the expected bad road into Tortel was not too bad. I think a lot of it has been recently upgraded. To return the car to Balmaceda with a full tank was a challenge but we managed using 3 liter containers of fuel although it may be worth recommending the purchase of a proper small fuel container.

Travelled to Antarctica

Thank you very much for organising our tour to Antarctica.  We had an awesome time and I can highly recommend the Ioffe. The whole trip was great and I couldn’t fault anything. The excursions on zodiac and on land were the highlights, to be able to get so close to the wildlife and be in amongst the scenery. Every day in Antarctica and South Georgia had different highlights. Here are a few photos. The tour guides that picked us up in Buones Aires, Ushuaia and Santiago were also great.

Travelled to South America

Yes it has been incredibly hectic since we got back but we had a sensational time in South America. Of course we have loads of photos and I kept a detailed journal of the trip and have feedback below from those notes. Thank you for the arrangements you made to ensure our trip was absolutely unforgettable. We always felt safe and it was stress free knowing that we would be met and taken wherever we needed to be at the time we needed to be there. When people ask about the trip I can only reply that is was sensational and that it is hard to single out the “best thing”. We were kept busy without being exhausted and we had a really extensive taste of the best of Peru and The Galapagos. Thank you Ed and Oasis travel for delivering again.

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

Just a note to say thank you very much for helping us with our Patagonian holiday. We had a wonderful time, in no small part, as a result of your great itinerary and hotel suggestions. Everything went very smoothly and easily. If I could make one small suggestion on flights we would really have appreciated a seat allocation which gave us a good view of the mountains. We did manage to change our seats for the Qantas flight back to Sydney and enjoyed a last view of the beautiful Andes. So thank you again. I feel sure we will want to travel in South America again.

Travelled to South America

We just wanted to say thankyou again for arranging such an amazing holiday. We had a fantastic time, and were so impressed with how well the itinerary met our needs and requests. In fact it didn't just meet it, the whole plan surpassed our expectations. After the first few days it was very clear that we could just trust what you had written in our itinerary, and be ready and waiting for whatever was planned next.  Every excursion, tour, transfer and hotel just magically unfolded into the next, with so many surprises along the way. We had a great mix of comfortable standard hotels as well as some first class luxury too.( this was a treat that we are not used to ). I loved the fact that you listened to our wishlist and made it happen! Given that we were such inexperienced and nervous travellers, we felt looked after all the way. Particularly so in Peru. Everyone was so keen to please tourists, and they were so proud to share information about their country and culture, so we learnt alot. It is still hard to believe that we went to so many places, did so many things, and experienced such an amazing mix of everything. Looking at some of the photos it all seems quite surreal. We took nearly 5000 photos, so I have been busy editing, I have attached just a few and it was hard to know which ones to send. Many thanks. You made an incredible holiday come together with ease, We had the BEST time!

Travelled to Myanmar

I'm just back from my trip to Myanmar and I thought you might like some feedback. In a nutshell, I got exactly what I paid for, and I had a wonderful experience and pretty much enjoyed every moment.

I did find the itinerary demanding at times, even though on paper it did not appear to be, and I would describe myself as an experienced traveller in Asia. I feared at some stages that I was suffering from Temple Burnout. Looking back, I think this was a combination of the very hot weather, (particularly at Bagan and Mandalay) and the fact that the guides were enthusiastic about making sure I didn't miss anything, and that I was getting my money's worth. Also on my part, that I did not want to dampen their enthusiasm or cause any offence either. A bit of a balancing act, but this is not a complaint.

I was very happy with the standard of accommodation throughout. I really felt that you had done a good job of ferreting out these places, and I do suspect some ferreting was required. I particularly liked the Villa Bagan, and the Blue Vanda in Nyaung Schwe, well done!

I was very happy with all the guides I had, and I let them know it. They were all highly professional, with excellent English, and a detailed knowledge of their history, culture and local geography. As well as being nice people! Any requests for assistance were dealt with immediately, and to my satisfaction. The workshops we visited were all well chosen. Very interesting, particularly the lacquer workshop in Myinkaba village, outstanding! All of the restaurants recommended to me by the guides, or from your list, were excellent.

So to conclude, I don't have a list of changes or improvements which you or anyone else needs to make. I think you have it about right.

(Mike SA, 2018)

Travelled to Zimbabwe

I would like to thank you for the help with organising our Africa trip!

First stop was Victoria Falls, We stayed at the Amadeus Lodge, the was pretty basic accommodation but suited the budget and allowed us cram several activities in including a helicopter ride over Vic Falls, a evening dinner cruise on the Zambezi, Fishing trip for Tiger fish (none caught) and a day safari at the Stanley & Livingstone game reserve - which was one of the highlights of our trip as we were fortunate enough to see 3 black rhinos, including a mother and 1 month old calf as well as a lion pride. I would highly recommend this tour!!

We continued on to the Ivory Lodge in "Hwange" National Park, this far exceeded our expectations! The management team including the staff and the accommodation were fantastic! The elephant blind was another one of the highlights, we were able to spend time in very close proximity with the beautiful giants. We saw plenty of game on the drives too. We didn’t want to leave and go to Khulu lodge! But "wow" we are so glad we did, it was stunning!! And definitely the best accommodation we experienced, thanks to the upgrades you provided we enjoyed more private game tours and were lucky enough to keep the same guide "Zebedee" he was a treasure of the 2 lodges and went out of his way to make our stay amazing. We again witnessed lions, elephants and all the other antelope in Hwange. It is a beautiful part of the world.

We absolutely loved our trip and would highly recommend the 2 lodges (Khulu was the pick) We can't wait to get back!!

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

Having always arranged our own travel I was very wary about trusting an agent. I must say that I now have complete faith in Ed and I would travel anywhere with his knowledge and organising ability. We had been to South America before travelling on our own and using private guides. Ed’s idea of having transfers to and from the airports was great as it removed all the grief associated with currency , dodgy taxis and expensive limos. His local knowledge was a godsend as we saw things we had never heard of .e.g. Ibera Wetlands A totally unspoiled wetlands teaming in wild life and vegetation and well off the beaten track. Also North West Argentina starting and ending in Salta was an absolute stand out. Patagonia was the real reason for our interest and with Ed’s great planning we were rewarded with a lifetime standout trip. While we visited many of the really well known attractions we were blessed to see areas not well trodden by tourists. There are too many standouts to list them but Patagonia Parque and the drive from Coyhaique to Tortel are really special. The ship Skorpios 111 travels in the most desolate and pristine country you will ever see. We loath cruise ships but this small vessel has many excursions, great cabins and excellent food. We have been travelling the world for the past 30 years and this trip is right up there with the best. I can give no better recommendation than to say we have engaged Ed to plan another trip to South America. I might mention our policy of travelling in shoulder periods was another real winner as there were just enough tourists to meet wonderful people but no crowds. I suspect Patagonia in January might not be as breath-taking. If readers suspect my comments are a bit gushy and enthusiastic I can assure you I am not backward in criticising and rarely hand out praise as I have in this report. I would be pleased to talk to any travellers contemplating using Ed’s services.

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

Ed, where do I start!!! The weather was unbelievable, cold and windy sometimes, but most of the time amazingly sunny!! we were so lucky! The only rain was in Bariloche but Perito Moreno Glacier in Calafate was a dream. Alfred took the best video ever of a big crash of an iceberg with the incredible sound created by the break away. Guanacos, foxes and condor showed up also. No need to worry about the accommodation in Calafate, yes it was simple but the friendliness of the staff and the clean rooms made up for the rest. Torres del Paine amazing weather and I think we had the best room in Hotel Rio Serrano with the Torres del Paine and the towers right outside our window. Everyday we did a different tour, saw different animals but the puma was in hiding, learn a lot about flora and fauna. Stella Australis and the weather allowed us to get close to the penguins (so cute) in the Zodiacs and also the amazing Pia Glacier. OK I will stop here or I will go on forever. I will let Alfred tell you more about it when you both talk.

Travelled to Argentina and Chile

Just a note to let you know that our trip went very well in Chile & Argentina. All tours and transfers were on time and well organised. Hotels were great. The scenery in Chile and Argentina was amazing. The Atacama desert was the highlight - especially Moon Valley. As regards Argentina the scenery around Purmamarca and on the trip to Cafayate was also fantastic. In addition the Iguazu Falls were amazing and the extent of the walkways around the falls provided excellent views from a lot of different aspects. Probably the worst part of the trip was the bus trip from Tilcara to Salta but this was probably due to the length of the trip a few days earlier. You have to remember that you are traveling large distances in remote areas so a little discomfort is to be expected.

Travelled to Chile, Peru and Ecuador

On behalf of myself and the others I travelled to South America with recently, I wanted to send you a short note to thank you for organising our itinerary so meticulously. Everything seemed to run like clockwork. Despite the limitations of travelling in that part of the world, every part of our trip was excellent. The transfers and tours which you had organised made a huge difference to our comfort and enjoyment. The guides were all first class and all of the accommodation was fine as well.

Hi Ed - I hope all is well with you. Steve and I are just at the airport waiting for our flight back to Oz. I had to take a moment to drop you a line to let you know what an amazing time we have had over the last three weeks. It’s been an epic trip and we have completely fallen in love with Argentina. Thanks Ed. It was perfect. The choice of destinations, hotels and activities gave us just what we wanted. We thought you did a great job.

Travelled to Sri Lanka

Just back from a marvellous visit. What an interesting country.
Thank you for putting together a great experience, everything worked well.

Pan Lanka were excellent in detail and Sarath our guide amazing, he was so knowledgeable and caring, a lovely guy.
As addicted curry lovers the food was special, particularly the family country experiences.
The UNESCO sites visited were incredible as you know.

We will certainly recommend your company to friends planning an experience.

One comment,a negative. The Grand Hotel room we thought was average and the Fort Bazzar Hotel basic otherwise very good to the Water Garden which was special.

Thank you once again Nick.
Our kind regards,

Travelled to China

Just a quick not to let you know that we are back safely after a wonderful trip to China, Mongolia and eastern Russia. As always, your arrangements were perfect and everything exceeded expectations in terms of facility, comfort and efficiency – many thanks.

So now we settle back into our normal lives, catch up on some sleep, eat some familiar food and drink some local wine....Not sure where or when for our next trip but you can be sure we will think of you when it comes time to put it all together.

Many thanks again for your efforts.

Travelled to India

with regards to our recent India trip....as usual it was a wonderful trip, but as you will see some bits were better than others.

We will be contacting you soon to start organising our intended 2019 Africa trip.

Thank you again for the wonderful organisation you do for us when we travel - we really value it.

Travelled to Cambodia & Vietnam

We have been home 3 weeks now and want to thank you for organising our trip.   Everything was just great our tour guides and drivers were the best, hotels excellent especially loved the Vinh Hung riverside resort in Hoi Ann  would like to go back to it one day for a restful holiday.

Halong Cruise  fantastic, we were up graded to the AuCo (Luxury cruise ship)  It was the best   5 star silver service   23 passenger ( instead of the normal 60 odd) and 45 crew to look after us. Food fantastic, wonderful tours and staff  could not have asked for more.

All in all a great trip, don’t need to go back to Cambodia but was good to see the temples and what life is like over there. Really enjoyed Phare Circus, the water puppets were OK. We actually did go into see Uncle Ho which was unexpected.

Thanks again for your organising, we will happily refer friends on to you.

Firstly I again thank you for your service and planning  – excellent.  Everything ran like clockwork in terms of scheduling, and we particularly loved Argentina which is now may favourite destination of all my travels. Ed Miles is thoroughly professional, knows South America in detail and advised accordingly.  Our thanks to Ed for his ready help and for putting together a brilliant and memorable itinerary for Chile and Argentina.

Travelled to India

I wanted to thank you for all you did organising our trip to India.  We were all blown away by the smoothness of it all.  Being met at every stage by a local rep, having local guides and excellent drivers all made for an outstanding adventure.

All the hotels were lovely - with occasionally over attentive restaurant staff (not sure how much they think we can eat!).    Each hotel we had was as requested at the start, boutique and interesting.   I am glad we didn't upgrade as we were more than happy with what we had, - the odd thing needed updating but it added to the charm......    Jaipur, Ramathra, Orchha, Fatehpur Sikri, Khajuraho  were all so interesting and we felt we would like to see even more of Jaipur and Orchha particularly.  By the end of this part of the trip we had seen enough temples but it would be hard to miss any as they are all so impressive.   Alsisar Haveli in Jaipur was exquisite as was the gorgeous Ramathra Fort and Amar Mahal.

Our safaris were above and beyond - we were very lucky.  Panna is known more for leopards than tigers and we were lucky to see 3 in our two days.  That was a thrill for us as leopards were one animal that we didn't get to see in Africa.   Sarai at Toria was perfect with a fascinating hostess who I could have chatted to for days.  Then we went to Bandhavgarh!!  Oh my gosh!  We, as a family, broke the hotel's 6 year record with our driver for spotting the most tigers in 2 days.  We had 14 tiger sightings - all close.  The closest was an incredible 2metres from our jeep.  We couldn't have asked for more!   Bandhav Villas was the one hotel where there were just too many staff watching you eat!   They were all lovely and so keen to please but just too attentive to the point of making us feel uncomfortable.

Kerala was a delight, if a little humid!!   Marari Beach Resort was the perfect place to unwind and end our trip which has given us many happy memories.

Thank you again for organising such a memorable experience.  I have already recommended you to a number of people who are interested in a trip now they have seen the pictures.

Jill & family (NSW, 2018)

Travelled to Sri Lanka

We returned from our holiday a couple of days ago & hit the ground running with work, but I wanted to email you as soon as I could to say thank you for organising such an amazing trip for us.

Everything we did was wonderful & we loved that it was off the main tourist route. I think we will be spoilt now for any other trips we go on.

The others is our group hadn’t really looked too deeply into what we were doing throughout the tour so everything was an amazing surprise to them. After Jim’s Farm Villas (pure bliss) you should have seen their faces as we were driving into the Mudhouse! No electricity, hot water or walls! I thought that maybe I had made a mistake booking this & they all said that they had their doubts at first, but it ended up being everyone’s favourite. It is an amazing place & we would love to go back when the lakes are full. Our huts were right on one of the lakes which was totally dry as they just haven’t had enough rain for two years. It was also blistering hot so those cold showers were very welcome.

Everything that was within their control was never too much trouble & this applied equally to all the other accommodations as well. Gal Oya was beautiful as was Fort Printers and of course Jim’s Farm. The only thing that we would have change was probably Uda Walawe – the resort was lovely & they upgraded us to a suite, but it was a bit too much like a cruise ship at dinner time & the safari was madness with many vehicles trying to jostle for position. Even so, we still enjoyed it.

We saw an incredible amount of elephants – on the Minneriya National Park safari we saw over 200 elephants – it was a truly wonderful experience.

We all agreed that doing the tour opposite to the original proposal was a much better way to do it. This meant that the Mudhouse was last. We think if we had started with the Mudhouse we wouldn’t have enjoyed it nearly as much. It was a wonderful relaxing way to finish the trip. If we had started there I think we would have been anxious to get going and see the sights & not really immerse ourselves in the relaxed pace of the property.

Also – our driver Kingsley was fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide – very accommodating & a lovely man.

Above all – the organisation & value for money of this tour was incredible. Thanks again for a truly memorable experience.

Travelled to India

I just wanted to send you a note thanking you for the excellent trip in India that you arranged us.

We enjoyed all the beautiful properties you selected for us very much and the arrangements went very smoothly. What i really need to add is that you were so helpful at all stages of planning the trip, and answered all our queries with interest (and patience) all the way through.  When we were in India you responded to any questions promptly and very helpfully, which was hugely appreciated by all four of us. Your notes prior to the trip were great and it helped that you tactfully advised us that patience was required as being India something might not go completely to plan.

We wished that we had more time in some places but that came from the framework I gave you to work with. I would recommend you and Oasis to anyone thinking of travelling in India, and I can only imagine that you bring the same thoroughness to all your work.

Travelled to South America

Travelled to South America

The highlight of the trip was climbing Wayhuna Picchu. Did it in 30 minutes up and 30 down. It was such an adrenalin rush and absolutely amazing. Loved Lima. There's a real buzz to the place and where we stayed was magnificent. Unfortunately I gpt sick on the last day in Cusco- altitude sickness suddenly hit and it was horrible. Then I picked up a tummy bug which is why we didn't make the Argentine side of the Iguassu falls. In fact all I saw was the view from our bedroom window which was pretty stunning. The staff at the hotel were really great making me soup and ginger tea. We also missed the first night at Iguassu because LATAM in their infinite wisdom cancelled our flight and it was only rescheduled 13 hrs later at 1.30 in the morning followed by 4 hrs of non stop turbulance! I thought our dream holiday was turning in to the holiday from hell!  But Rio certainly made up for it. Just love Brazilians and their zest for life. The hotel was in a great location but is very old. Buenos Aires was so European. I loved it because it was so different to the rest of Sth America. The Atacama desert was stunning.  I can highly recommend the 4 wheel drive option. And the Amazon was great. Very unique experience. So all up a great trip. Every part was unique, but yes, Macchu Picchu is definitely the highlight.

Travelled to Peru

we made it back from Peru in one piece. We would both like to thank you for organising a fantastic trip. Absoloutely loved the sights, the culture, the people and especially the food.... As you know, there is so much more to Peru than Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu was fantastic but so was just about everything else. Sacred Valley, Cusco, Arequipa....wow..... Lima is lima and wont be in a hurry to go back there but it is was it is... The hotels you chose for us were spot on. La Casona in Cusco, wow, Casa Andina Private Arequipa, wow..all the rest were great too. The amazon for me , well I wouldn’t go back... Biggest disappointment was that the beer was never cold!

All of the guides were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us, so were the drivers... I remember when we were in Paracas, we were caught in a massive sand storm whilst driving. That was a great little experience in itself. Our flight over the Nasca Lines was cancelled so we had to rebook it for the following morning which meant we had to miss out on the Ballestas Islands. Our guide, Eder, knew that we are lovers of wine and Michelle’s new found drink, Pisco, so instead of heading back to Lima after our Nasca flight, he took us to his home town of Ica, where Pisco and all of the Peruvian wines are made. It was 5 hours out of his way but he didn’t mind at all..Bloody fantastic.......

As you know, I had my reservations about flying Latam. I thought our trip was going to be a disaster when there was a fuel contamination in Auckland and they had to divert us to Tahiti to refuel.. I thought, here we go, we were going to miss our connecting flight and our baggage was going to end up in oblivion. Not the case, We were promptly booked on the next flight out of Santiago to Lima and our luggage also met us there. Some of the internal flights were fashionably late but we had no problems with Latam at all. The airport staff and flight staff were fantastic.

One of the highlights was the Andean Explorer Train. Thankyou for booking the deluxe suite for us. Pure luxury...As we were in the equivelant of first class, we were pampered  more than the other guests. We had an exclusive dining car and the food was Michelin star quality. This would be an absolute  must when recommending an itinery for your future clients.

I can go on and on about the trip.. Once again Ed, thankyou so much for organising such a memorable trip. We will never forget it..

Travelled to South America

We returned safely and have now come back down to earth. We want to thank you for organising for us the most wonderful trip. Everything worked as planned and the people were all friendly, helpful and hospitable. We have so many great memories  about all the places we visited and we cannot thank you enough.  The real highlights were the Aria cruise and Buenos Aires both of which we would go back to.

Dick & Lale (NSW, 2017)

Travelled to South America

We had a fantastic trip and could not have been more happy with Oasis organisation. The trip was seamless, with absolutely no issues what so ever (apart from the flight issue when we left Peurto Maldonado. However, this had nothing to do with you guys and we were extremely grateful when your local partners arrived at the airport to offer us assistance. We were with other Australian travellers at this time and they received no contact or assistance from their tour company. They were all asking who we were travelling with that we were able to get such assistance). The standard of accommodation, our guides, drivers and vehicles exceeded our expectations. We would like to compliment you on the choice of hotels. I would like to give some feedback on the A Hotel in Argentina. While the location was good, the hotel itself was a little tired and more importantly the staff were most unhelpful. The rest of the hotels were excellent! The highlights were Iguazzu falls (and how we would have loved to have stayed longer at the Belmond Hotel), Machu Picchu ( we had the best of both worlds – cool and drizzly rain the first afternoon and clear skies and sunshine on the next day)We would definetely recommend to other traveller to spend 2 days there. The Colca Canyon was amazing and our stay at the Colca Lodge was wonderful. I could go on and on!! The Isle of the Sun was absolutely beautiful and we had the most amazing sunny days when we were there – it was spectacular.

Our guides were OUTSTANDING. They were always on time, very accommodative of our needs (such as finding laundries etc). Our pick-up times were always confirmed the night before and we were made well aware of the days activities, dress needs, food options etc. well in advance.

Thank you for the time and effort that went into our itinerary and being able to access you by phone when we required it. We would highly recommend you and Oasis to other travellers. Till our next trip.

Travelled to Peru

We had a wonderful holiday in  Peru thank you for organising it. Macchu Picchu was the highlight, the photos you see of it don't compare to the real thing.  We didn't suffer from altitude sickness and the weather was great except for 2 days in the Sacred Valley when it rained on and off.  All our guides were wonderful and the hotels you picked for us were also great. The visit to a local family in the hills of Sacred Valley was also a highlight, we dressed in the local attire and had a dance with the children and also bought lots of souvenirs.   Loved Cusco and the tourist bus to Puno was quite enjoyable as was the visit to Uros.   We didn't see a lot of condors in the Colca canyon but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colca Lodge. Drank plenty of pisco sours and had a great meal of alpaca in Cusco and cerviche in Lima.  Went to Chi Cha in Arequipa and had a wonderful meal it's a restaurant that everyone should visit. Thanks again and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year.

Chris & Brent (QLD, 2017)

Travelled to Myanmar

What a complex, beautiful country. The people were warm and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  All the arrangements you made worked beautifully so from that point of view it was hassle free.

The drive from Bagan to Inle Lake is rather horrific.  It is not the distance so much as the large number of trucks on the road - there are so many and it is a very windy road for at least 5 hours of the eight hour journey.  Thank goodness we had a truly excellent driver - the best by far and he should be praised for his skills.

Hpa An Lodge.  When we first arrived they took us to a room with a double bed. We explained this was not acceptable and  that we needed a room with twin beds. Fortunately our guide was still at the hotel and he sorted it.  We did get a twin room and we enjoyed staying at Hpa An Lodge - a very nice hotel.

The comments above are not by way of a whinge as we know that Myanmar is not very developed - that is part of its charm - and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the wonderful villages,  enjoyed the temples and pagodas, eating in people's homes and having a picnic under the trees.  And yes, we had a great holiday.

Jane & Colleen (VIC, 2017)

Travelled to Borneo & Langkawi

Just a note to thank you for helping to organise our trip to Borneo.

We had a fantastic time in the Borneo rainforests and at the beach at Langkawi. We were able to switch off and totally relax.

The accommodation was excellent at all the places we stayed. The surprise was at Sepilok. The rooms were very spacious and had just been renovated. The wildlife was amazing, especially at Bilit on the River. We probably saw more there than anywhere else on the trip. We were able to see all the monkeys in the wild, Orangutang, Proboscis, and all the others. Crocodiles, Hornbill birds, leopard cat, snakes, frogs, deer. No elephants this time though.

The only real hiccup was at Bilit, where the visa card would not work due to poor satellite connection. We did not have enough local currency to pay for the drinks tab, and they were reluctant to accept US dollars or Australian Dollars, which is all I had at the time.I ended up having to pay with US dollars via the guide we had.

The pick up and transports were all on time and the vehicles were in good condition and the drivers were very cautious. The guides were all very good too and shared their love and passion for the regions they were responsible for. The only comment for improvement, would be in relation to the daily trip we did at KK. It was an all day trip, and that guide was the only one who did not provide water. Every other guide and driver had water available for us. So we were not prepared, and did not take any with us.

From a food perspective; The Thai restaurant at KK was lovely. At Langkawi we enjoyed great meals at Yasmin, across the road from Casa del Mar, and Thirstday along the beach. The food at Casa del Mar was OK too, nice atmosphere on the beach, but far more expensive and smaller portions.

It was a great trip and I would recommend this itinerary and accommodation again.

You did a fantastic job.

thank you.

Travelled to India

Just a short note to thank you for organising an excellent trip to India. We had a really enjoyable experience, with a good balance of discovery on our own and time with friends. Apart from a couple of misunderstandings that were quickly accommodated, the hotels were lovely and the guides were superb. It really is an extraordinary place and can see that there’s much more to explore.

Travelled to Sri Lanka and India

I'd like to say that the experience with Oasis was very good - right from the planning stage to the end of the tour. The itinerary worked very well and we certainly enjoyed a variety of experiences and saw so much of Sri Lanka. Accommodation was fantastic and we were looked after very well by the tour companies in both Sri Lanka and India.....we had a great holiday and would recommend Oasis to our friends.

Travelled to Morocco

How much we enjoyed our time in Morocco.  What a fabulous country to visit, so much to see and so colourful and so many interesting places and things to see, and the people were great and the food fantastic.

Our driver was excellent, very cautious and competent and our Guide Fettah was the very best. He was polite, immaculate, friendly, informative, accommodating, caring, and interesting to talk to.  We learnt so much from him.

Also we were looked after extremely well everywhere we went, we felt as though we were treated like royalty.

I can’t say which bit we liked the most because it was all good, from the mosques and palaces, the medinas and souks to the desert, the Bedouins, the high Atlas mountains and the fertile oases, all of it so colourful.

Loved every bit of it.

Ange & Tony (VIC, 2017)

Travelled to Vietnam and Cambodia

Oasis arranged a private tour in Vietnam and Cambodia for three couples.

We chose Oasis because of its first-hand experience in the region.

Everything went to plan; the accommodation selected was very good, the guides excellent and the restaurant recommendations were well chosen.

I forgot to mention our experience of the sampan.  Lucy persuaded me to stay with this option and she was right.  If there was any part of the itinerary that I was uncertain about before we left it was the night on the sampan, but it exceeded expectations by a long way.  We only had one sampan (not the two as indicated in the itinerary) but it was spacious and comfortable.

There were two dedicated bedrooms and a third made up in the seating area after our meal onshore at night.

As mentioned all the accommodation was very good with the possible exception of Villa Langka which was still very acceptable.  (Our rooms were large and clean.)  An off-putting aspect on arrival at Villa Langka was a cat sprawled across the seating area with no intention of moving.

All the guides were excellent: .....the vans were good and the drivers were very professional.

Overall, we enjoyed a well-planned itinerary and local experiences.

Travelled to Sri Lanka

Just touching base as we are back from Sri Lanka and life as we know it is back to normal. We had the most wonderful holiday and wanted to thank you and the team for the excellent itinerary and work you did behind the scenes to make our holiday run so smoothly. We all loved every minute and were extremely grateful for the comprehensive information you provided us before the trip. Once we got there we relaxed thoroughly in the care of our knowledgeable and safe driver Nuwan, who took great delight in explaining and showing us all of the wonderful things Sri Lanka has on offer.

The itinerary was perfect – we enjoyed all of the activities (white water rafting has been unanimously voted the most fun by all three kids) and the diversity of the different arrangements kept everyone interested and engaged. During our bike ride on our second last day we stumbled across the Dog Care Clinic in Mihiripenna-Talpe. Probably not for everyone (there was a dog on the open air operating table when we arrived) but a definite highlight for us – the girls were rapt to see the animals being assisted by the people at the Clinic after having seen so many unwell animals during the trip. Just thought I’d flag it as a place of interest – the kids particularly liked being shown around and having the opportunity to interact with the dogs.

The quality of the accommodation was exactly as you had outlined, very clean and comfortable, and the food was absolutely amazing everywhere we went. My personal favourite location was Kalu’s Hideaway – it had a lovely setting and feel about it, even with construction works going on (very minor and didn’t impact us at all). Centara Ceysands was the perfect spot to relax and unwind for a few days after the planned activities over the first week.

We don’t have any suggestions for improvement – we really loved the whole experience from start to finish. It was the perfect family holiday for us all  - thank you again for your expertise and excellent service. We have recommended you everywhere we’ve been (including a recommendation to the flight attendants on our way home!!). We would definitely love to use your services in the future – it was a hassle free and wonderful experience.

Travelled to China

Our trip went very well and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. All the guides and drivers were really good except for the fellow in Beijing who picked us up and took us out on the Sunday - he was hard work. We really liked the accommodation in the traditional style hotels in the older areas.

The only slightly off meal we had was at the Ramada in Xi'an - we were a bit tired and decided to eat at the hotel instead of going out which we usually do. We ate lots of interesting things!

The blossom everywhere was beautiful - just a pity that the smog spoils the scenery.

Thank you for your organisation as it all worked perfectly.

On to planning the next trip!

Travelled to Japan

Just wanted to let you know we all had a fantastic holiday in Japan. The itinerary, accommodation, food and tours were all excellent.

Special mention should go to The Screen in Kyoto, which was fabulous. I booked all your suggested rail sectors and we managed not to miss any of them!

Many thanks again for all your efforts in putting the holiday together, we are already recommending Oasis to our family and friends.

Peter and Vanessa (WA, 2017)

Travelled to China

I would just like to say a big thank you for another wonderful holiday, so many places that we really loved, like Hangzhou where we had a lovely guide called Wendy who really tried very hard to make everything perfect and adding in a trip to a tea plantation when I asked about getting some green tea.  Tongli water town was very peaceful and riding in the gondola along the canals was so relaxing......Staying at Pingyao really gives you a good feel as to how life in China was, it is a little commercial in parts but that is okay, you didn’t mention that as seniors we didn’t have to pay to walk on the wall or enter the museum that saved us 300 rmbs (each) which I spent buying things there......Bangkok was interesting the Grand Palace and Wat Pho were well worth seeing even with the 6 million other people....I was not that interested in going to Cambodia now my mind is totally changed, the people and the hotel were really lovely and we all know the horrid history Cambodia has yet they are inspiring in the way they are trying to educate the children and young adults to better themselves in the future.  I don’t need to say anything about The Angkor complex.....I have decided I want an Elephant after a couple of days at the Elephant Village. The Luang Prabang Paradise Resort was very good, we had several problems but they were quickly fix without  hassle, I must mention that I hurt my back while away and was a little restricted, the guide and staff of the Elephant Village were wonderful giving me the oldest and most gentle elephant so as not to do further damage and sometimes I think the guide was trying to carry me up the stairs, he was trying too hard to help.

Thank you again for your efforts we had a great time and the odd thing that went wrong did not take anything away from the holiday, it was tremendous.

Travelled to Myanmar

Oasis did a truely fabulous job organising a holiday that took in all the major sights in this beautiful & diverse country. You catered for a family of 5 with teenagers so well. We covered a lot of territory in 3 weeks and Nick ensured we had excellent accommodation and service from the guides, all of whom were friendly / informative and helpful.  We enjoyed lots of interesting activities including hiking to a remote village for an overnight stay, cycling / scootering in beautiful Bagan and kayaking in the magical Inle Lake. The last few days relaxing on the beach in Nagapali was the icing on the cake.

I can highly recommend Oasis Travel for organising a trip that caters to the needs of all family members. We will definitely be planning another adventure with this company 10/10.

South America

Thank you to Nick and Ed from Oasis Travel for organising the most amazing trip to South America for us. It was on our bucket list and exceeded our expectations. They were able to find excellent accommodation within our budget and made local recommendations we would never have thought of. We are full of praise.

Travelled to Patagonia

Just a note to thank you for arranging our trip so well. Everything worked seamlessly and you even managed to arrange perfect weather for us!

Stella Australis was an outstanding experience, from the accommodation and service to the various experiences offered. Also blue sky every day and no sea sickness! I have attached a couple of pictures of Cape Horn as proof. The lighthouse is proof that we were up at dawn to land! In fact the weather was so exceptional the crew was all out taking photos. We were able not only to land but also to circumnavigate the island in the boat which we were told only occurs in 5% of the cruises.

Travelled to Argentina, Chile & Uruguay

I just wanted to say a sincere thank you for the planning that you did for and with us for our holiday in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay.  We absolutely loved the whole holiday and are so grateful for the guidance you gave us.

Travelled to Guatemala, Mexico & Cuba

Thank you, we had an absolute ball! Who said old ladies can't have fun! We listened, we experienced, we learnt and we enjoyed! Absolutely awesome. Thank you for all your hard work. Standouts, our accommodation particularly Meson de Maria, Antigua, the view from the roof top was breathetaking and Fuego was smoking and Hotel Atitlan, lake Atitlan. Our room was fabulous 3 beds and a seperate living room and terrace, then there was the view!  We also loved Jaguar Lodge, Chan-Kah resort and Gran Real Yucatan. Escudo Jaguar was definitely Rustic! No wine and no hot water (though that could have been easily corrected) But in saying that it was the best nights sleep we had and we did get 3 beds. Our Guides, how good were they?? Exceptional! that is the only word I can think of. The whole holiday run like a well oiled machine.

We all loved every part of our trip and all the people that we had the pleasure of meeting, not just our guides, but our bus drivers, boat drivers, hotel staff, our house maids and waiters and waitresses, our reception staff and the people that took really good care of our laundry and last but not least our numerous barmen. Drink of choice this holiday apart from wine, our drink of necessity, was the Mojito, particularly the ones at Gran Real Yucatan. Loved the addition of fresh lime pieces!

I think Guatemala ticked all our boxes, great people, excellent hospitality, fabulous food, amazing scenery. Very close to our Peru experience. We only saw a small part of all the countries we visited but what we saw we liked. Mexico, not the friendliness or service of Guatemala. Cuba, way too many tourists! As Mauro said we missed the boat there by about two years. The Mayan trail, excellent! Standout Tikal and Yaxchilan . Pacaya, very special, really challenged us and then rewarded us with minor eruptions and wine with lunch. What more could we wish for! Loved every minute, thank you.

Travelled to Patagonia

It was a great trip, probably the best we have done worth every cent. I took 1500 photos - what a great part of the world. The only glitch was the ability to leave luggage in Ushuaia and the Australis staff's indifference to help out once the cruise had ended. The cruise itself was enjoyable and fun with excellent food. We didn't make land fall at Cabo de Hornos it was very rough with some people seasick. Overall would recommend to my friends. The two Tierras were fantastic. Atacama was lively and friendly with great food and service, No geysers there was just too much to do, the scenery was remarkable. Patagonia was more reserved but what a sublime location, building and views. The service at Patagonia was very personal with the GM and the Hotel Manager making sure we were happy. Would highly recommend both. The entire trip was very well put together and over all a good job arranging the transfers and accommodation it was seamless with friendly drivers and guides even in Argentina! Already thinking about going back.

Travelled to Peru & Bolivia

All in All Ed, it was wonderful, your organisation and attention to detail in covering everything that was important to me (us) was superb.  I have mentioned our trip and the way it was done to numerous people who are just amazed at how we were treated and looked after without being on a big organised tour. It was perfect. It is hard to believe only a couple of weeks ago we were there, and now we are home again to an ordinary life, but that is what a holiday is I suppose, a fabulous adventure.  This one was definitely out there as regards physical activity, but what an achievement.  I'm so glad we did it now because it wont be too far away that holidays of this calibre would be well and truly beyond us.

Travelled to South America

Gill and I want to really thank you for organising a tremendous holiday which was perfect in every sense and couldn’t have been better planned. We thought all the hotel choices were really good, just what we wanted, 4 star, great location and boutique in style. Very happy with all your choices. The pick up and drop off at the airports made arriving in each location so easy and then the half day tours enabled us to get a good overview of wherever we were staying. Also, your communications along the whole journey, from initial enquiry until we returned have been just spot on in terms of amount you contacted us and the issues you have brought to our attention.

Travelled to Costa Rica

Just returned from Costa Rica and have just posted some comments on your Facebook site. In summary. Multiple transfers were on time with extremely courteous drivers. Various lodges and hotels were excellent and totally in line with what we requested. Activities ( snorkelling, hikes, hot springs etc.) were excellent and strenuous enough that we did not put on any weight. Food was brilliant. One of the best holidays we have ever had and Costa Rica is a great place to visit. Thanks for organising the trip Ed and we would not hesitate to use Oasis again to arrange a trip to one of the other locations you specialise in.

Alan & Jan (NSW, Feb 2017)

Travelled to Peru, Ecuador & the Galapagos

Yes thanks we had a great time - I can see why South America is a favourite.  All transfers etc ran really smoothly, don’t worry about Quito - a tiny hiccup more than adequately compensated for :-))

Highlights included:
Aguas Calientes, & sunny 2nd day at Machu Picchu to walk up to the Sun Gate & Inca bridge,
Favourite hotels - Castillo Rojo, El Mapi, Pakaritampu & Casa San Blas
Quito guide for 1/2 day - up the cable car on a clear day - boys thought it was fun to be at half the height of Everest!

Also loved Galapagos, but how could anyone not enjoy that area!!  Lucked in with a great extended family of 10 Americans ranging in age from 16 (2 girls) to 58yo.  All active, irreverent & loads of fun.  SO lucky. MV Majestic was great - highly recommend, 16 was a perfect number of passengers on the boat, lots of activities (snorkelling, island walking etc) everyday, wet suits were available free, but ok that we took our own.

Travelled to Peru

We're not long come back from 5 weeks in South America – primarily Peru. The organisation of the holiday went like clockwork, the accommodation was of a very high standard, guides and drivers were excellent. This is not our first holiday through Oasis. Basically they know what we want and deliver. This time much thanks must go to Ed Miles who put the holiday together and made it work seamlessly. In working with us we found him incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, approachable and flexible. We will look forward very much to organising our next holiday with Oasis !!

Travelled to Argentina & Chile

We are now back home after our four week self-drive trip from Puerto Varas to Punta Arenas. As you know, we just love driving in wild and lonely places. The route that you developed for this trip combined the interesting tourist areas of the Lakes District and the Torres del Paine areas with some beautiful remote country in between. “Outback” Chile and Argentina were a perfect contrast to the stunning mountains and lakes at the beginning and end of the trip.

There were too many highlights to mention but they included Tortel with its 15 kms of boardwalks in a fjord setting and with no car access beyond the communal car park. Also Hosteria Futalaufquen in the Argentinian Los Alerces National Park for its atmospheric architecture (and terrific Pisco Sours) in a gorgeous lake and forest setting. Another highlight was the drive through the Patagonia National Park to Lago Posadas for both its scenery and remoteness. Also the terrific walking areas from the beautiful accommodation at El Pilar and Hotel Las Torres.

The mixture of guest houses, lodges and larger hotels worked perfectly for us. The warmth of the Chile and Argentina people was a real feature of the trip. Also the variety of wildlife: apart from thousands of guanacos and pink flamingos, we enjoyed watching a silver fox, a family of Patagonian deer, a rhea mother with her twelve chicken-sized chicks, lots of dwarf armadillos and some very interesting water birds.

Ed, we really appreciated the route that you custom-designed for us on this trip and it gave us an extremely memorable holiday.

Travelled to India

We could not fault one thing about our wonderful holiday in India, from the first day I contacted Oasis to the day we returned!
Please pass on my my incredible gratitude to Lucy for making our holiday so wonderful and memorable and care free - she thought of everything!

Judy & Amy (NSW, Sep 2016)

Travelled to China, Cambodia and Laos

I would just like to say a big thank you for another wonderful holiday, so many places that we really loved, like Hangzhou where we had a lovely guide called Wendy who really tried very hard to make everything perfect and adding in a trip to a tea plantation when I asked about getting some green tea.  Tongli water town was very peaceful and riding in the gondola along the canals was so relaxing. Staying at Pingyao really gives you a good feel as to how life in China was, it is a little commercial in parts but that is okay, you didn’t mention that as seniors we didn’t have to pay to walk on the wall or enter the museum that saved us 300 rmbs (each) which I spent buying things there......Bangkok was interesting the Grand Palace and Wat Pho were well worth seeing even with the 6 million other people.....

I was not that interested in going to Cambodia now my mind is totally changed, the people and the hotel were really lovely and we all know the horrid history Cambodia has yet they are inspiring in the way they are trying to educate the children and young adults to better themselves in the future.  I don’t need to say anything about The Angkor complex.

I have decided I want an Elephant after a couple of days at the Elephant Village. The Luang Prabang Paradise Resort was very good . I must mention that I hurt my back while away and was a little restricted, the guide and staff of the Elephant Village were wonderful giving me the oldest and most gentle elephant so as not to do further damage

Thank you again for your efforts we had a great time and the odd thing that went wrong did not take anything away from the holiday, it was tremendous.

Penny & Frank (NSW, Sep/Oct 2016)

Travelled to Cambodia

Just a quick email mid trip to say all going well and having a fantastic time. The Cambodians are wonderful people given all they have had to deal with re Pol Pot and the corruption. Guides have been incredible and hotels great- Sala Lodge where we are now is really special. Have a few observations for some tinkering for us for next trip we do - but in a positive way. All going really well and your itinerary has been perfect.
Thanks so much.

Travelled to Ecuador & the Galapagos

We had a FANTASTIC trip and are very grateful to you for your advice and help in coming up with that itinerary. Mashpi was a real highlight for me and while the proximity you have to the wildlife in the Galapagos is mind blowing, the beauty and diversity of that rainforest and the life it sustains is incomparable. I will try and go back to Mashpi in the future with at least one of my kids. That lodge and the whole concept of the place is amazing. Quito provided a good starting point and my husband particularly enjoyed all the churches and old architecture. The MV Origin was the best boat out there in the Galapagos and everyone else had boat envy! It was beautifully appointed and the crew and guides were all lovely. The accommodation, food, pickup services and guides were faultless. We will highly recommend you to all our family and friends and you will be our first port of call in arranging our next trip to South America.

Travelled to Vietnam

We had an absolutely fantastic time in Vietnam. Thank-you for organising a superb itinerary.

It was a perfectly paced trip with plenty of rest time & lots of really interesting activities.

The highlights were the farm visit to Hoi An & the pottery morning in Hanoi (plus of course, the Halong Bay cruise).

The accomodation was great. The Metropole was stunning (we must go back!) & had the best buffet breakfast we had ever had (plus the best poolside cocktail I had ever had - the Charlie Chaplin). The Hyatt was amazing. The 3 bedroom villa was the size of a holiday house & having the Club-access plus a private pool was gold.

Chris and family, NSW (Sep 2016)

Travelled to Vietnam

Had a great short trip in Vietnam. Hoi An was definitely a highlight for me and I'm glad I spent most of my time there.

I had a fantastic sesame beef and papaya salad at the Good Morning restaurant in Hoi An, and also found a fantastic little gem of a restaurant, fairly upmarket, called Secret Garden down a back alley. I also really loved the accommodation at Hoi An, everything about it, it was brilliant.

So thanks again for your help in organising it all!

Travelled to Malaysia

Just a note to say a heartfelt thank you from Jarv and I for helping to make our holiday what we wanted. The experiences of city, culture and beach were thoroughly enjoyed.

Villa Samadhi and The Datai were highlights! We would certainly revisit KL particularly on a stop over to Europe.

Thank you for bearing with us as we moved through the trip and for your speedy efficient service. It was excellent and much appreciated.

Katherine & Jarvis,NSW (Jul 2016)

Travelled to Peru & Bolivia

Just a note to let you know all went well with our SA trip. Arrived home late last night a bit knackered. Your partner agents all did a good job and looked after us well. The only minor problem was the roof top cooking class in Cusco did not make contact prior and we had no pick up time on the itinerary, so we hung around late afternoon hoping not to miss the pick-up, he eventually showed up so all good. Highlight of our trip was probably Machu Picchu, weather was perfect. Bus ride exhilarating, township fascinating, a close second would have to have been the Andean Explorer train trip. Loved Bolivia, La Paz a great city. Enjoyed Gustu Restaurant, must rank as one of the best we have experienced. Thanks for organizing a great trip, we will definitely use your services for our next vacation.

David & Cindy, VIC (Jul 2016)

Travelled to South America

Back home after a fabulous trip.  Thank you so much for organising this so well for us. We would love to go back to Patagonia and possibly further south and one of our guides was also recommending Mato Grosso in Brazil.  Thanks once again, Ed, we were extremely happy with your planning and recommendations and would definitely pass on some good kudos about you and Oasis Travel.

Travelled to Peru, Ecuador & the Galapagos

You beat me to it! It was absolutely fantastic!! We are in love with South America. I’ve been meaning to write to you to thank you so much for such great organisation and suggestions. All the locations, guides and trips were wonderful. Machu Pichu and Galapagos a highlight, perhaps, but I just loved the Sacred Valley and the indigenous Peruvian culture too.

Margie & Hugh, QLD (May 2016)

Travelled to Costa Rica

I could not be happier with my experience with Oasis Travel. Ed was thorough, patient, helpful and understanding in planning my trip. His knowledge of Costa Rica is extensive and one of his recommended destinations ended up being my favourite part of the whole trip. I was able to enjoy the whole experience without worrying about a thing. I could not recommend Oasis Travel and Ed more highly.

Travelled to Peru

Thanks you Ed. It was the trip of a lifetime. Your Peru itinerary covered everything we wanted in the time we had.

Travelled to Java, Indonesia

Java trip was good - your arrangements were excellent as usual (no hitches). I agree Borobodur is worth the trip, perhaps not quite as fascinating as Angkor Wat, but very special. I particularly enjoyed the bike ride from Kaliurang. Thanks again for the arrangements…….South America lurks in the back of my mind if we can find a suitable slot in our diaries.

Bob, NSW (Jul 2016)

Travelled to Borneo

We had a fantastic holiday. Its hard to pick what to highlight & certainly there are no complaints.

Firstly the company in Borneo who did the transfers and the guides, were amazing. We had a number of transfers, a few change of times due to Malaysian airlines changing their schedule and a few places where we had guides. Every single time they were there to meet us before we arrived, we never had to wait, they were all friendly, polite, interested & interesting. The drivers were very safe & the guides informative.

We really enjoyed the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru. The children loved the water play area and the pool. The rooms were good & clean. Nothing special but then we only paid for the basic level of room. Breakfast was good.

The Danum valley, BRL, was spectacular. We had a truly amazing time. Our guide was wonderful. We really enjoyed all the walking and the wildlife. The food was fantastic. The room over looking the river with the bath on the deck was lovely.

Sandakan was good. We are pleased that we saw the sun bears and the proboscis monkeys. It is good to know about the orang utan sanctuary however we had already seen so many in the wild that we felt we didn't need to go there. However even retrospectively it was good to have it included in case we hadn't seen them in the wild.

We loved the Shangri-La Rasa Ria & we were really pleased that we stayed in the ocean view area. Having the quieter pool & breakfast area was great. The rooms were spectacular. The breakfast was really good. We were given fresh and dried fruit everyday.

Overall thank you very much for all the work you did facilitating it. We are unanimous in our desire to return to Borneo again! I have kept your number in my phone.

Tineke & Family, VIC (Jun 2016)

Travelled to Yunnan and Tibet

All the guides were excellent and spoke great English which made it all the more enjoyable as we could chat easily and ask lots of questions. We appreciated that they had been advised that we did not really want to do lots of shopping and did not get a hard sell from anyone….we did of course do some shopping but in a much more relaxed way.

Overall another great holiday, the only change we would make, in hindsight, would be to stay an extra night in Chengdu as our flight from Lhasa was delayed and we ended up getting to the hotel late at night. Hence the next day we just explored near the hotel before flying home. The Buddha Zen Hotel was in a great location – with an extra day we would have gone and seen the pandas again.

Fiona and Jim QLD (Jun 2016)

Travelled to Sri Lanka

Both Mike and I would like to thank you for the wonderful holiday you planned for us in Jan - Feb 2016 and the assistance you gave to us when everything went pear shaped in Horton Plains. We were also very impressed with the guide "Don" who always  went above and beyond, but particularly during the time after the fall until out flight back to Brisbane. Thankfully I am almost back to normal now just requiring some physio to improve my gait and balance after 3 months of wearing a moon boot.

The 11 days holiday we undertook before the fall was fantastic, with our exceptional guide "Don", fabulous hotels and great scenery.  We are sure the rest of the trip would have been just as fantastic as the beginning. We would really like to complete the trip sometime and maybe include some extra time in some of the places we enjoyed most. We will certainly be in touch with you soon to arrange this.

Karen & Mike QLD (Feb 2016)

Travelled to India

Thank you Lucy for organising a fantastic trip for us, it was all that we were hoping for - a combination of cities with temples, monuments and palaces as well as small villages that allowed us to see the real India. Imagine being in a place so authentic that there was not a souvenir to be seen (Pachewar)! We loved our trip and couldn’t have been happier with the arrangements you made. It was absolutely what we were hoping for. Once again, Oasis Travel has done it for us. It started with an idea, a dream and you guys made it a reality. We’re telling everyone about Oasis for customised small group tours – it’s the only way to go. Many thanks again from all of us.

Neil, Glenys & Col, VIC (May 2016)

Travelled to Japan

We got back safe and sound. Japan is certainly a different part of Asia. It seems to lack the worldliness of China and the charm of Vietnam / Cambodia. That is not to say we did not enjoy ourselves. The Cherry Blossoms were certainly a sight to see, also the lack of graffiti and the cleanliness of the streets was very noticeable. The train system was unbelievable, although I think we probably spent a bit too much time on them. The gardens were also a delight to visit. The Tokyo Fish Market was mind boggling. The Screen Hotel was a delightful surprise, looks can be deceiving the rooms are very spacious [13 rooms all with a different layout], a spa bath, restaurant very good and last but certainly not the least an open bar Happy Hour ?on the roof top  from 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Once again a very enjoyable trip.

Bill & Win, NSW (Apr 2016)

Travelled to India

I have to say Lucy from the moment I spoke with you I was comfortable about your vast knowledge of this region and you gave me your own personal experiences, which made me feel very confident that we had found a perfect travel agent. I was impressed how thorough you were in establishing our needs over the many phone conversations and giving us so many suggestions.

Everything you had planned in our itinerary was perfect and in fact better than Bryce and I would ever have imagined! The on-the-ground company that work with you were simply amazing and treated us like royalty and made everything so easy, even simple things like doing the check in at each hotel was done for us! I cannot express how wonderful our trip was from the moment we landed in Delhi to the time that we departed to go to Kerala. Lucy, there is nothing that we would have changed in our itinerary and everything went to plan, this is a credit to yourself and your company and we cannot stop recommending Oasis Travel to everyone.

Thank you again for creating such an amazing holiday for us and this will not be our last!

Tracy, Bryce & Ethan, VIC (Mar 2016)

It was a memorable holiday that we both enjoyed very much. The people were every bit as wonderful as we had been told they would be, food was also excellent.

“We had a brilliant holiday and it is so hard to be back at work.

A very big thankyou for all your work in preparing the itinerary.”

Robert & Deborah, NSW (Mar 2016)

Travelled to Myanmar & Bangkok

All went very well to plan.  We felt the impact of the number of flights to get to places – 7 in all – but that is obviously necessary in Myanmar and to get to both Myanmar and Cambodia (and we knew this). All guides and drivers were on time and excellent.  The hotels were all terrific and all a wonderful surprise, a good mix of experiences.  Temple fatigue did set in but this is not due to any advice from Oasis and we accept – particularly in Myanmar – temples are so much a part of the culture and the history (indeed, unbelievable the extent of temple building over the centuries) this is to be expected……..but now having visited, we see now that is the main feature.

Jen & Gary, NSW (Feb 2016)

Travelled to South America

Hi Ed, you must be a mind-reader because I was just thinking about calling or writing to you. Our holiday was absolutely amazing with so many highlights. The weather was fantastic and the sunny days just followed us around everywhere. Iguassu was stunning, Machu Picchu was unbelievable and we were lucky to experience both days with all kinds of weather but mainly sunny when we visited the citadel and hiked up to the Sun Gate. I will post you a couple of pics soon - my camera certainly got a good workout.

Self-drive Argentina & Chile

Thank you for organising the trip so well.  We've already been told that we have whet the appetite of a few friends to add travelling to the lakes area of Chile/Argentina to their bucket list.

Travelled to Vietnam

I just wanted to say thankyou. We had the most amazing trip. It ran seamlessly from the minute we arrived to the day we left. The guides & drivers were all fab and the hotels were great. The first week was full on but fantastic... lots of traveling, long cars rides & plenty of walking which made the second week that much better, as we took it much easier in hoi an & slowed to an almost coma state at the An Lam villas!! I must say An Lam was stunning. We drove through nha trang & thanked you a million times for not booking us in on the mainland (it reminded me of surfers paradise... but the Aussies were replaced with drunk Russians!!!). What a treat to find such solitude & beauty in such a busy country.

Once again, thankyou.

Samantha & Family, NSW (Jan 2016)

Travelled to Argentina & Chile

All our drivers and guides were great, and we learnt a lot about their history which put us to shame how ignorant we are.

Tierra Patagonia was the highlight. We could have stayed for longer. Very impressive operation, particularly with the guides. We were told that the weather the preceding weeks had not been great and it had snowed on Christmas Day. We were blessed with perfect days, though some days the wind was pretty fierce, but just as I anticipated. Eolo was also great. The glacier was amazing, we were quite mesmerised and our guide was great. We didn’t bother going in to Calafate as had more than enough to do around the ranch.

Thanks again for organising my perfect trip.

Paul & Gail, QLD (Jan 2016)

Travelled to Chile

Chilean Patagonia was beautiful! As self-confessed city slickers, the day hikes were perfect for us and we got to experience the typical windy but fair weather of the region. Actually we were pretty fortunate with weather in general. The entire vista (picture frame-perfect from every angle of Tierra, as you know) was fogged/clouded over on our departure day and apart from the day we went, the Grey Glacier boat trip had to be cancelled due to excessive winds. Completely spoilt at Tierra Patagonia! The décor, the food, the room, the general vibe, the fellow tourists (I'd like to say travellers but who am I kidding?)... all incredible! Was a bit depressed when the driver dropped us off at our hotel in Punta Arenas and we got to our room. Honestly, talk about a let down in comparison!

Easter Island was also great! What an intriguing culture and landscape. We don't post too many pics on Facebook but one of the two of us next to the moai at Tongariki and captioned "Two mugs in front of fifteen chiselled faces" was well "liked"! The tours were excellent by way of explanation at the various sites. Hotel Altiplanico was a little out of the way but lovely. The sea view from our room was idyllic and the hotel itself was very good.

Thanks so much for organising our trip, Ed. We appreciated your prompt responses and helpful suggestions/insights. Accommodation-wise, it is going to be hard winding back from the heights of Tierra Patagonia and Easter Island was definitely worth the extra effort to get to.

Natasha & Lennart, NSW (Nov 2015)

Travelled to Borneo, KL & Thailand

Yes, the trip went very well.

Only had one gripe and that was with the Horizon Hotel in Kota Kinabalu...we had to wait for almost 4-5 hours to get a third bed into the room. It was really annoying as we had travelled all night.

Everything else was just fantastic...loved all the animals and cultural activities. While all our guides were very good, one outstanding guide was for the Sandakan Kinabatangan Sandakan section of our trip.  I would appreciate it if you could let your ground agent know that Zac went the extra mile for us!  He was very kind, considerate, interested, knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour, punctual and concerned that we were enjoying ourselves....he was excited when we were excited...he was one of us. Just fabulous! Please forward this message if you would be so kind.

Thailand was great...loved our Chiang Mai accommodation and like you said, the people were magnificent.  The Dusit Royal has had a make over and it is really very well situated and very very nice. We loved it. We also enjoyed our stay in Bangkok. Loved the Thai people. All our excursions were terrific...the Lanna Experience was wonderful...again a wonderful guide in Nirvan. He was very accommodating, caring, punctual, helpful, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour.  We enjoyed him a lot.

All in all a fabulous trip.

Thanks to you all especially you, Nick. Terrific work!  Kind regards to you and the team, Elaine.

Travelled to India

We are back, all in one piece, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip.

We were sitting outside our suite at the hotel in Orchha looking over the courtyard, drinking G & Ts and listening to a troupe of Indian musicians playing when Pam said to me “I think Lucy has done very well”. Nothing  in the latter part of the trip altered that assessment. The itinerary, hotels and ground arrangements were all uniformly excellent, as they have been previously and nothing less than we have come to expect from Oasis. Put very simply we know that when we travel with you we are getting the best available. I would love to offer some constructive criticism but I have none to offer.

The hotels were all very comfortable and we would recommend all of them. They were all different with their own little idiosyncrasies, but we are talking about India after all. The Lalit was modern but just a beautifully run place and we didn’t let  the fact that the domestic wine was about $75.00 a bottle, which was probably due to it being in a high tax state, faze us at all. Better the money is spent on us than our beneficiaries. The Taj in Gwalior for some unfathomable reason hadn’t renewed its booze licence and we were reduced to sending a out into the heat and dust to liberate some of the aforementioned wine, but the upside was that this time it was only $7.00 a bottle, and even then I suspect we were paying more than retail.

The driver we had was wonderful and all of the guides were knowledgeable and really nice people to deal with.

Lastly a few words about the Rajmahal. We can’t speak too highly of it…..comfortable cabins, excellent food and the crew really went out of their way to look after everyone....

Thank you again for everything you did for us.

Ross & Pam, NSW (Oct 2015)

Travelled to Thailand and Laos

Well, another great trip - thanks.

Hotels were all great, particularly 138 Pillars (Chiang Mai), The stay at Lanjia Lodge was well worth it - I’m glad you recommended this, The Luang Say river cruise was excellent, Luang Prabang was the highlight town in Laos and 2 days was sufficient in Vientiane. Guides and drivers were excellent througout, and the crossing Thailand/Laos was well handled by guides and Luang Say (boat) staff.

Thanks again for your help……

ONE of the things on my list is to tell you about the journey. AMAZING! We have had experiences we will never forget in Patagonia. The highlight of this South American trip was being on that beautiful expedition ship, Stella Australis; the crew were amazing in every way. The hardest place to leave was Tierra Patagonia. I cried when I left – its location in Torres del Paine weaves a special kind of magic.

Travelled to Peru & Bolivia

Thanks again for all your organisation that made our holiday exceptional. Firstly our guides were in the most part fantastic. I'd like to mention the standouts - Percy in Lima, Hugo in the Amazon, Christo in Sacred Valley, Cusco and Machu Picchu, Leeanna in Puno, Norma in Arequipa and Maurice in Santiago. Absolutely amazing!! Then there's the hotels as I said on the phone, we'd arrive somewhere and in unison we'd all say " thank you Ed ". Great choices.

Google Search led me to Oasis and to you Ed, thank you for the best holiday imaginable in one of the Worlds greatest continents.

We had a fabulous trip – saw many amazing things on our itinerary and had many more experiences on top of that!  Thank you so much for your work – we had no problems with accommodation, travel, flights etc and in fact had such a great travel guide in Cusco ( Julia ) that I have sent them an email commending her. Thanks again – it was quite a complicated trip in hindsight but all went really well.

Travelled to Japan

We're finally back. Been a fantastic trip.

Wanted to thank you for the Japan stuff you organized for us and give you some thoughts as promised.

Went to the store you mentioned under Tokyo Station and got sorted with Nihonshu and whiskey.

All hotels were excellent including the one in Kyoto you weren't so sure about. We thought it was great. All hotels in great spots and proximity to train station where possible was definitely the way to go. Hilton in Shinjuku was a sanctuary. We got into Kitcho restaurant and enjoyed.

All extra activities you organized were superb and really added to experience. Glad we did both ninja and samurai experiences. They were superb. Guide in Kyoto was awesome. Fish market and sushi making in Tokyo were fab. We actually kept in touch with the guide and she actually organized a last minute visit to a sumo stable for us as well.

All transport organized was a breeze. Instructions were easy to follow. After awhile as you said we found getting around easy. Only had one minor hiccup getting to Fuji on bus and we missed our stop but it all got sorted in the end and no big drama. Glad we climbed Fuji but no need to do that again!

So thank you again for everything. Can't believe its all over...

Travelled to Yunnan and Tibet

All in all we had a fabulous time and would strongly recommend this trip to others. The hotels were excellent. The Sky Valley Heritage Hotel was especially nice. The outstanding hotel was the Songstam Spa and Retreat in Shangrila. It was fabulous. The St Regis was as one would expect in a five star international hotel.

Thanks for a very enjoyable holiday. All guides and drivers and vehicles were terrific.

We had a fabulous holiday and your efforts were well appreciated by the entire family. We would definitely book with Oasis again.

Travelled to South America

We survived and are back safe and sound! Highlights - Cristo Redemptor in Rio, Iguassu and , of course Machu Picchu and many other Inca and pre Inca sights in Peru - Moray and Moras were very interesting and sights around Cusco also fantastic. Our hotels were all brilliant. The Belmond Das Cataracas was beautiful and wished we could have stayed another night. We particularly liked the Antigua Miraflores in Lima  and the Orly in Santiago but the others were all good - Ollantaytambo, Aguas Callientes, BA and Rio - all were exactly what we wanted.

Guides were amazing and some went out of their way to help us. Top award goes to GUS in Rio - he was excellent and made sure we were very safe - even mapped out a walking route for us in our free time and wouldn't let us go to Santa Theresa by ourselves - he drove us up there and around and then "let" us walk down the tiled steps by ourselves and drove around and waited for us at the bottom. He spent much more time with us than he was scheduled to.

We had an absolutely fantastic time everywhere and will remember for a long time to come. So, where to next ? Wherever it is we'll be in contact with Oasis first.

Travelled to Borneo

We had a wonderful trip. Everything ran like clockwork - all pick ups, transfers etc were on time, absolutely no problems. We all loved the Danum Valley and the Borneo Rainforest Lodge was outstanding. I am so glad we booked with Oasis Travel because we were able to relax and enjoy all aspects of our trip.

Cathy, NSW (Jul 2015)

travelled to Northern Vietnam

The trip was great, everything went smoothly due to your organisation and the quality of the guide and driver. I will send an email to Exo in Vietnam as Hung, our guide, gave us an incredible insight into Vietnam history and their way of life.....Everyday you would think WOW this is amazing and then the next day you’d be thinking that it can’t get better but it would be equally as amazing as the day before.

We loved the hustle and bustle of Hanoi’s old quarter and the food!!!!!!!!!! Our trip to Halong Bay was excellent. We stopped along the way for lunch and a water puppet show in a village which I think would be more authentic rather than the one in Hanoi. We were blown away by the Dragon Pearl experience and the tranquillity of Bai Tu Long Bay. The quality and variety of the food on board was incredible and the attentive friendly staff made it even better.

Ky Son was a different experience again. The décor in the room was detailed and authentic and our guide there was friendly, it was certainly a lovely setting and the gardens were lovely. Our own guide Hung accompanied us on bike rides with the Moon Garden stay guide which was great as we had a great time with him. Colin wasn’t as wrapped in the Moon garden stay as I was as he thought they hadn’t quite got the concept and were trying to do too many things. Then another highlight began with our Mai Chau experience!!!!!! OMG the accommodation, the view from our room, the dancing, their amazing uniforms, cycling through rice paddies  and the trip to Paco and wondering around the hillside villages with children following me was great! And then there was the mountains….scenery we will never forget.

Back to Hanoi and sad farewell to Hung and our driver (who Colin was very impressed with his efficient driving skills  particularly over mountain ranges!). The extra couple of days gave us a chance to revisit eating places that we went on in the street food tour…a café that serves egg coffee being a favourite…

We left Vietnam full of memories...the scenery, the friendly people and the stress free holiday all making it a holiday we will never forget. We will definitely be recommending you and your company to friends and family. The personalised tour was what enhanced our holiday we felt like royalty and were treated like royalty…now back to reality!!!!!

Thank you once again for all that you did. I would recommend all components of our travel itinerary.

Travelled to Vietnam

We had no probs with the booking, arrangements, quote or inded any aspect of the trip - thankyou for your exepert assitance....

The guides were obliging and always ready to assit, in fact, a special mention should go to Le Trung ('Troy') in Saigon - he was truly first rate and no task was too hard for him. (would even sync his phone to mine for wi-fi when travelling in the transport)

One highlight was the 'Taste of Hoi An' street food tour - I recommend that peole do this early in ther Hoi An visit as they can then tap into 'The Teacher's' local knowledge - a very handy 'ex-pat' to have around !!!!!!!

We had a wonderful time and will certainly plan to re visit Vietnam, maybe concentrating on Saigon and Hoi An, with perhaps a spell at a Danang Resort - all for future planning !!!

Travelled to Cambodia

Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. Good without the crowds. Everything went smoothly.  The guides were on time, knowledgable, courteous, helpful and spoke very good English. The drivers took good care of us in the Cambodian traffic. Cars were always clean and tidy. We loved all the hotels you chose, especially in Kep. We now understand your equivocation about the Kratie hotel compared with the others. Appreciated the itinerary you arranged for us with the relaxation period at the end.

Just a couple of points of interest. The guide at Kratie was a little dismayed to find that there is now a monopoly for boat crossings to the Island and was unable to hire a private boat. As with other public Cambodian modes of transport the ferry only went when it was full. Well worth seeing the Phare circus in Siem Reap and glad we went in Mangosteen season!

It was fantastic. The guides were amazing! I would not have been able to do it without them! Many many sincere thanks for such a wonderful trip. I really enjoyed Atacama as well. Mashpi was amazing! And of course Galapagos too! I loved South America. The people were all so lovely!

Travelled to China & Tibet

A really good itinerary and very professionally and capably handled in all respects, both here and in China. It was unfortunate we didn’t get to EBC, nevertheless Tsedang region was nice to visit and we got a taste of the EBC road when we went to a monastery on the north side of the Yalong River. Ouch, dust, ruts and corrugations!

It was a drawn out affair from first discussions to taking the trip and I really appreciate your understanding and patience with our situation and the seamless (for us) handling of all the changed booking dates etc. Thanks again

Travelled to China & Tibet

We arrived home safely and on schedule last week after a magnificent trip through China and a few days rest in KL. Let me congratulate you on a fantastic job putting the trip together, especially given the last minute juggling after the events in Nepal. Whilst we were disappointed not to see Mt Everest or get to Nepal, we all agreed that what we saw and experienced in its stead was well worth the trip. The scheduling of the trip was perfect, the time frames you allowed for daily activities were spot on, the amount of free time/guideless days worked really well, and everyone who was designated to meet us was right on time. There wasn’t one place that we thought we could have missed. We will be recommending Oasis to all of our friends and you will certainly hear from us again when we are planning our next trip.

Travelled to Borneo

Just wanted to let you know we had an AMAZING time in Borneo.  Thanks so much for organising it.  Everything went very smoothly and the accommodation in all places was amazing.  Loved having the Jacuzzi in the rainforest as it was so humid. Thanks for the recommendation of Danum Valley – it truly was a magical place.

We did go diving at Gaya Island – the diving itself was ok, but I hope one day things settle down in Sipadan to get over there to dive – we keep hearing how amazing it is. Bunga Raya was great too.

Really appreciate your advice and help with this holiday – it certainly made my 40th special.

Kim & Kelvin, NSW (May 2015)

Travelled to Cambodia & Vietnam

Thank you so much for the wonderful holiday you arranged for the eight of us. Cambodia and Vietnam will be on our itinerary again. Bravo! Bravo!

We have so many memories to cherish. Everyday was a highlight and we kept wondering how the next day could possibly measure up ... and yes it did. The flight arrangements, accommodation, restaurant suggestions and personal attention we received each day resulted in a totally relaxing and absolutely stress free experience.

The guides helped us enormously especially with the sensitive way they explained the tragic historical episodes that these two countries have had to deal with. It makes us all really appreciate the safe environment we have been privileged to live in.

Michele & party, WA (May 2015)

Travelled to Japan

It’s hard to pick a highlight, overall Japan was easier to navigate than expected and also cheaper than expected.  I loved the gardens, walking down the Path of Philosophy on a beautiful spring day, the train trips looking at the scenery, especially the trip to Koya-San.  Going to the top of the mountain on Miyajimaguchi and seeing a monk  playing the drums in the temple overlooking the Japan Sea.  Also the look-out at the top was fabulous, it was a very clear day and we could see for miles. Meeting the Japanese people was great and checking out the shops etc. we wished we’d thought to bring small gifts for our guides.

Tsumago was also fabulous, as we arrived in the late afternoon the day trippers had gone and in the morning we were up and about before they arrived so it  was really quiet and very beautiful, a photographers dream.

The monastery in Koya San was much better than expected, I was expecting a cold and Spartan room and mung beans for dinner so that was a nice surprise.  The town was also great and lots to see, lots of cherry blossom still about, we managed to see a long parade of monks coming out of the temple in the cemetery.

The service from Oasis, the local agent, guides and drivers were excellent. Everything went very smoothly and we were well looked after from beginning to end. We felt confident that any problems would be addressed promptly with efficiency and grace. We loved Laos and the holiday we had there.

Travelled to Mexico and Guatemala

Had a wonderful time all round, the weather was perfect most of the time although a bit too hot sometimes. Mexico City was fantastic, the hotel great and in a good position....... The guide we had to Tikal was excellent, and what a fantastic place......The drive across the border (Guatemala to Mexico) was interesting and we would recommend it...... The drive to Merida was good and the hotel the best (of the trip) ,beautiful room and great service. Actually all the hotels seem to upgrade us. Chitzen Itza hotel had great food, service and location although the site was very touristy. We loved the Mestizo Hotel at Tulum, a hut right on the beach......All in all everything went well and we felt very safe and looked after.

Guatemala was beautiful and we could easily have spent more time there. Amazing history, very advanced culture indeed.

Noel & Sue, QLD (Mar 2015)

Travelled to Chile

We were very happy with our holiday, and would say that you got it just about spot on. Highlight – difficult to say – but Sue says ‘going on an educational walk near the hotel and coming face to face with a wild puma’. That’s something we haven’t had anywhere else!

Tomorrow we cross the border into Bolivia and our Argentinian and Chilean adventure ends.  On behalf the group, I would like to thank you most sincerely for the care and attention you put into the organisation of our wonderful adventure.  The variety of topography, the accommodation we experienced, the people we met and the wonderful times the group had together will remain with us for a long time.  We feel very fortunate that our internet search led us to you and we appreciated the time you spent listening to us as you certainly captured the essence of our plans.

Travelled to Burma

We had a fabulous time and are in love with the country!! Thanks so much for all your wonderful work. In Bagan, we were very surprised at how much lovelier the resort was than its website made it look. It was very charming and well run and pleasant to stay in, and beautifully decorated and maintained. Our guide there was fabulous, and timed everything well and arranged the perfect timetable while also being flexible about our needs. The pagodas etc we saw were just amazing. Your restaurant recommendations were also excellent and useful. I’d love to talk to you more about your specialties in SE Asia as we plan to do a lot more travel in the region in the future.

Anon, QLD (Jan 2015)

Travelled to Japan

This was my second trip through Oasis Travel and once again their understanding of our requirements and the organisation were fantastic. The itinerary suggestions were great as it took us to places we would never have chosen. The follow up service from partner companies within Japan was also excellent. The pre-travel tips made the whole experience even more enjoyable, most notably the luggage transfer service and the advice regarding the ATMs at 7 Eleven (not a place I would not normally go for cash!).

We enjoyed the guides for the few days and found this was a great way to see the highlights and get a better understanding of the history and culture. All of the guides were very knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions for restaurants where the locals eat (with fewer tourists).

Trip highlights were Kanazawa, Wagobashi Onsen and Yoshikawa Inn in Kyoto – here the food and service were well worth the price.

Many thanks we had a fabulous trip in a lovely country!

Michelle & Dave, NSW (Dec 2014)

Travelled to Vietnam

Thank you for assisting us with our travel arrangements. Every cafe and restaurant we went to was able to cater for all 11 of us without even batting an eyelid. Something I didn't expect to happen. Our guides were also exception in recommending places for lunch each day. You were able to cater to everyone's varying needs and make the holiday a memorable occasion for all. The trip was fantastic.

Travelled to Vietnam

Just a quick note to say thanks for everything with our trip.

Everything went according to plan and our guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. The local guide who was with us around Nui Dat and Long Tan certainly made the experience that little bit better for my Father in Law

Vietnam is a wonderful destination.

Travelled to South America

We have just returned from the most incredible 6 week trip to South America - we visited Peru, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia - We would like to thank Ed who listened, guided made suggestions and helped to put it all together - we couldn’t have done it without you!! Airport and train transfers as well as drivers and guides for sightseeing who gave us hints on safety and local info were fantastic - this was the first time we had travelled like this and it took all the stress out of the holiday - we are so glad we found the Oasis site when we first started planning the holiday - we have already given your name out to people we met on the way and will continue to do so - thank you Ed for being there for us and making us feel like we were your only client.

Travelled to India

Thank you for arranging everything – fabulous holiday and so relaxing and EASY for us.  Confident everything arranged and in hand.  All guides were perfect, our driver was excellent and your representatives were both delightful and helpful.  You would NEVER want to drive independently in India – roads absolutely crazy!!  I loved to sit back, relax and watch the passing parade (and take lots of photos).  We especially loved Samode Haveli for unique accommodation.  Would definitely recommend Oasis when travelling to India.

Well done Ed on organising an amazing holiday, with the right balance of activities. Having a few days in most places allowed us time to explore the destinations and gave us a taste of the different local cultures, food and wines. We look forward to discussing our next holiday plans with yourself and Oasis.

Troy & Elizabeth, NT (Sep 2014)

Travelled to Vietnam

This was a great trip and enjoyable.  The balance of accommodation was good and guides were friendly and prompt.  The guide in Hoi An was very intelligent and offered much information as was the guide in Ho Chi Minh. They were well dressed and very informative. Thank you for organising such a great trip at a good price.

Ros & family, NT (Oct 2014)

Travelled to China

We had a great time.  The guides were informative (some times too much information!!), friendly and were able to impart their knowledge with good English.  They didn’t always fully understand questions we may ask but that added to the fun of the experience.  I think the Australian accent made it difficult for them sometimes. We certainly feel that we ticked all our wish boxes and more.  An amazing country with so much history. Thank you for putting it all together for us.

Shelagh & Scott, VIC (Oct 2014)

Travelled to Argentina & Chile

We had a wonderful trip. John, Greg and I all could have kept going for another couple of weeks. We loved everything...the places, the people, the food and wine. I was very happy that I could speak some Spanish - it was very useful and also nice to be able to talk to people about their lives……

So many amazing and wonderful places. I think my favourite area was the Salta, Cachi, Cafayate area....so....thank you very much for all of your planning. It was so good having someone meet us at the airport at each stage and the hotels you chose were great. I certainly will recommend you to anyone that I hear of wanting to go to South America.

Travelled to Cambodia, Hong Kong & China

I thought I should write to let you know that, like the two previous trips on which we have used Oasis (Vietnam 2010, & China 2012), the arrangements for this trip were first class - thoroughly enjoyable.

Whilst I had been to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat previously (Trudy had not) it was well worth the second visit - and trip to Battambang and Phnom Penh rounded out our understanding of Cambodia nicely.

The visit to the Hakka Toulu was a great experience - I had not been to this part of China before, and I enjoyed this part of the trip very much.

Overall, a great trip - even the weather was kind to us, and the protests in HK were no real problem to me.

Bob & Trudy, NSW (Sep 2014)

Travelled to Borneo

We had a wonderful trip! Everything went very smoothly and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we did and saw. The weather was good, the food particularly at Bilit and BRL was really good and the guides and drivers were excellent. We were given a schedule with pick up times when we arrived and the drivers and guides were always on time, were knowledgeable and they were lovely people.

Thanks again for all your efforts in putting our itinerary together. We were very happy with our trip and would definitely use Oasis again and recommend them to our friends.

Kim & Harry, NSW (Sep 2014)

Travelled to China

I would like to thank you for the wonderful job you did organising my trip to China.  We had a wonderful time and it was so nice to be able to hand over the details to you and know that we were in good hands. We were really happy with the accommodation recommendations. Les Suites Orient is in an excellent location and is a lovely boutique hotel.  We were really pleased with this recommendation.  And of course the Amanfayun in Hangzhou was fabulous.  We really loved it here and realised as soon as we arrived that we should have arranged to stay longer. Our guides in Shanghai and Hangzhou were both excellent. They were very friendly and accommodating and very happy to assist with all our queries and happily dealt with any changes or additions to our sightseeing plans.

Thanks again and we will no doubt be in contact again to organise another trip.

Caroline & Michelle, NSW (Sep 2014)

Travelled to Vietnam

Thank you so much for organising our Vietnam trip for us. We had a terrific holiday and our guides, particularly at Hanoi and Sapa, were terrific. They took the stress out of the trip and helped us to appreciate what a wonderful, diverse place Vietnam is. Our accommodation in every place was great – clean, comfortable and well located- La Residence in Hue was amazing. We are so glad that we had guides as they took the stress out and I would love to visit Vietnam again. Thanks for all your help - you enabled us to have a happy, enriching trip.

We had the holiday of a life time and I do want to thank you for putting together such a special holiday.

We met a lovely couple from WA who also booked their travel thru you too! Turtle Island was an absolute highlight. We felt very priviledged to be there and see something we would normally only expect David Attenborough to see!!

Many thanks and I do hope we get to go somewhere as special again soon – it will be hard to top!

Travelled to Ecuador

We were most impressed with the organisation of your tour from the time we arrived in Ecuador till the time we left. Everything went smoothly and all was as promised if not more. We would happily recommend Oasis Travel to other prospective travellers. Our contact, Ed we consider to be exceptional. He was always prompt in his replies; he gave relevant and most useful suggestions; obviously worked hard to make our travel relevant and interesting within the guidelines we had set; answered any query immediately and generally made us feel we were an important client. The arrangements made by Oasis were faultless. Everything promised in our itinerary occurred and the Ecuador guides were terrific – polite, prompt, informative and generally charming. Thank you Ed for your assistance, we are glad we came across the Oasis site when planning our trip..

Travelled to Chile

We had a fantastic holiday, Chile should be seen by all. Autumn seemed to be a perfect time of the year as there was no rain to speak of in the lake district, the wind had disappeared from Patagonia, it wasn't too hot in the desert. Hotels - Your selections of Hotels was outstanding, can't say anymore, brilliant. Thanks for all your efforts Ed.

Stephen and Nicola, WA (Mar 2014)

Travelled to India

I must say that everything went very smoothly indeed. Cox and Kings were tremendous, always on time, and often calling to check we were all okay and that arrangements were both understood and working properly…..This, as you know, is the second time we have used Oasis from the UK, and while I have wondered if we might be better with a local (UK) travel agent, I’m afraid you will have to put up with us into the future, as both in China/Vietnam and India you and your colleagues have been terrific……and even from 11,000 miles away we will certainly use Oasis again. We look forward to working with Ed for the next trip (South America)!

I wanted to relay just how fantastic his experience was!! Everything was seamless to the organisation, hotel check in, guides and the upgrade to the bigger coach was definitely the best decision! He was extremely impressed with the entire tour and there were no issues or incidents in the entire time they were in India. You were also wonderful to deal with.

Travelled to India & Sri Lanka

Overall the trip was outstanding and Oasis had planned something that was exactly what we imagined and more. The accommodation in general was outstanding and exceeded what we imagined. The balance of down time and activity was perfect and we feel that we saw so much of the areas we travelled to without being rushed. The guides were great, knowledgeable and listened to what we wanted to do and responded. Sri Lanka was a wonderful surprise and the Coco Bay resort just wonderful. The tip overall was a huge success for us and Lucy made sure we were well prepared.

Travelled to Vietnam

We have just returned from Vietnam this morning and, before I am swept up in our work and normal routines, just wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your help in organising our holiday.  We had an absolutely wonderful time on the trip, and it certainly won't be our last visit to Vietnam, nor our last excursion with Oasis. Everything went absolutely as promised; the accommodation was sensational (my personal favourite was La Residence in Hue), the day trips very diverse and interesting, and it catered equally well for Alan and myself, as for 11 year old Meg. Her favourite part of the whole trip was kayaking in Halong Bay, and that was certainly breathtaking.  That said, cycling around Mai Chau, our time in Hoi An and the Mekong trip were all amazing as well….. Thank you again for all your help: it was magic.

Travelled to China

A wonderful holiday in what could be a very difficult country to travel in.  The arrangements you put in place, your accommodation and tour recommendations, your allergy letter in Chinese, and the guides we had took all of the worry out of the trip and made it a holiday to remember.
Firstly the accommodation, it was better than fantastic.  We had been surprised at the inclusion of the Hilton Xian, but it came just as we were tiring of travel and the challenges of food.  Around the halfway mark a good dose of luxury and western food was just what the doctor ordered.  To start in Les Suites Orient with our windfall view of the Bund and Pudong was a wow factor, the Zen Budha in Chengdu was sensational, it's location perfect, and Pingyao's Jing’s Residence was the most attentive service we have every experienced.

Mal and Pam, QLD (Oct 2013)

Travelled to Vietnam

We had the MOST AMAZING TIME in Vietnam, with Vicky and Mark.
I can highly recommend the Hotels we used in Vietnam, especially the one in Hoi An, they we superb and amazing value – I fear it will not stay so for long! (Good value, that is!!).
Everything about the trip was really, really great and you were great to deal with too – thanks for all your hard work.

Travelled to China

We have arrived safely back in Brisbane, tired but full of wonderful stories of adventures and wonderment of China…we found the trip to be excellent value for money. We found it suited us ideally with our own personal guide and driver. We saw many large tour groups, all following their guide, holding up flags, and were so pleased we had chosen this unique and personal way to travel and explore a country where we had not been before and have a language barrier with. We especially loved visiting Pingyao and cannot speak highly enough of Jing’s Residence. Once again many, many thanks…..we would be more than delighted to offer our full recommendation of Oasis Travel

Travelled to India

We had a wonderful holiday and part of the reason that we decided to head over to India at such short notice this year was because we had received an email notifying us that Oasis Travel was now covering India. We had a wonderful experience in China last year, and we were just as delighted with the arrangements for our travel to India this year. The hotels were great and we loved all our activities. The guides and our driver were lovely and really helped us to enjoy each location fully…..it has been great to find a very knowledgeable travel agent who can create our itinerary and organise all the details for us. It was great not to have to worry about spending hours researching destinations and hotels. Everything ran very smoothly from the moment we arrived in India. Many thanks.

Travelled to Japan

What can I say, it was a fantastic trip and one that we will both remember for a long time. Your itinerary gave us a fantastic insight into the Japanese culture and your comments and advice was extremely helpful. We have both travelled extensively throughout the world and I can safely say on behalf of Ellen and myself that Oasis is the most professional company we have ever dealt with. Please start looking at other destinations in Japan as we will be booking another trip with you very soon!

Travelled to Vietnam

Lucy was absolutely fantastic to work with in planning our holiday and everything worked very smoothly. Thank you!
All hotels were recommended with our young family in mind and the pools were lovely, very helpful given we were there at the hottest time of year. I would definitely love to go to Vietnam again when the kids are a bit older and then I would go in April/May. Thank you again for all of your help. It all went very smoothly and I truly appreciate you making it as easy as possible!

Alana and family, VIC (Aug 2013)

“This holiday exceeded our expectations in every way! The organisation by Oasis was extremely well done with expert advice and efficiency. The hotels were outstanding, beautiful and well located……this wonderful holiday ran without a single hitch. Vietnam and Cambodia are beautiful, complex and fascinating countries, their people warm and friendly. We had a fantastic time and will want to visit again in the future.”

Travelled to Yunnan Province, Yangtze & Shanghai - China

"Anne & I want to sincerely thank you. You provided an outstanding itinerary and tour for us during our 3 weeks in SW China exploring Yunnan Province, the lower reaches of the Yangtze and Shanghai. We had a wonderful trip, we saw so much and the experience was truly remarkable. Everything went exceptionally well and the hospitality and care afforded to us everywhere we went was simply outstanding.”

Paul & Anne, SA (Jun 2013)

Travelled to China

“Oasis is a very professional agency with excellent contacts and partners throughout Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We found the local guides well informed and most helpful, especially in Saigon and Hanoi. We had a sudden medical problem towards the end of our trip and Oasis’ help was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended if you want an insightful visit to the region.”

Jean & John, VIC (Jun 2013)

Travelled to China

“We had a great holiday that was well organised and efficient. We guess it happens every time, but we could have had an extra day in all of the target locations in retrospect. We felt that both Oasis and the guides listened to what we wanted to do and tried hard to provide a holiday that met all our needs – a little offbeat as we are two old academics that are interested in a variety of things. The addition of the craft and waterfall park in Guiyang was a magnificent surprise thanks to Leyla. The other major plus for us was that we could visit all these interesting places at our own pace and therefore we could enjoy. Well done Oasis.”

John & Gillian, WA (May 2013)

Travelled to Yunnan Province - China

“The entire trip exceeded our expectations. The guides were friendly and very knowledgeable and listened to and responded to our needs and interests. They organised a very varied itinerary, the highlight for us was participating in a family meal with each different ethnic minorities. It felt a very safe destination and the transport was very well organised. The drivers were careful. The food was of exceptional standard. The beauty of the country side and cultural heritage was amazing.”

Alison, Peter & family, QLD (May 2013)

Travelled to China

“Our trip to China was a great experience; well organised and executed by you and your people, as usual. Thanks. From the highlights of Beijing to the Great Wall and on to the Warriors, the ancient city of Pingyao, down the river to Guilin and the vibrancy of Shanghai, we packed as much as we could into 2 weeks. The ancient history and the incredible growth of China all there to see, with open and friendly guides and people all the way. We will be back to see more.”

Peter & Kelly, WA (May 2013)

Travelled to Vietnam

“We would like to thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday. Vietnam was just spectacular and we hope to return soon. In the two weeks we experienced such diversity within the different areas. The Vietnamese were so welcoming, the tour leaders and drivers very informative and at times very funny. It was great being on a small tour (private) in that we could change some aspects of the tour to suit us.
The Sampan was certainly the highlight of our tour and something we have never experienced before. We felt like royalty, the staff were very friendly, the food delightful and plentiful and the scenery and people were lovely. Many thanks for organising such a fantastic holiday, it was really appreciated.”

Sharon & Darren, VIC (Apr 2013)

“Thank you Oasis travel and especially Lucy. Your service was impeccable and the trip you arranged for us went so smoothly and was so wonderful we both agreed it was the best holiday we have had. The guides were punctual, polite and informative. The accommodation was fabulous and the itinerary interesting and varied with enough time to relax and enjoy the facilities at the hotels. We are thrilled with your company and the service you offer and would not hesitate to use you again.”

Helen & Daryl, VIC (Apr 2013)

Travelled to Beijing & Hong Kong

“Just wanted to let you know out trip went really well. Great hotels and locations. So glad we followed your advice…. The tour days in Beijing were fantastic. The kids still flying the kites they got from the guide on the Great Wall trip! Thanks so much for all your tips and suggestions, it was a wonderful trip…”

Natalie & family, NSW (Mar 2013)

Travelled to Cambodia

“Just to let you know we were most impressed with the tour you arranged for us in Cambodia recently. The 2 hotels you booked for us were beautiful, and impossible to fault. Our 2 guides in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh were excellent. Both men are very special individuals, and we felt privileged to meet them and spend time with them. We hope you can pass on to their employer, how pleased we were with the service they provided.”

Annabell & Kim, NSW (Mar 2013)

Travelled to Vietnam & Cambodia

“A most stimulating and enjoyable trip. Hotels were excellent. The Sofitel Metropole Legend in Hanoi lived up to your recommendation. Service at the Majestic in Saigon was a bit patchy – a couple of the staff were on the surly side. Also we really appreciated your strong advice re-staying at the Life Heritage Resort in Hoi An rather than the place out of town.”

Doug & Jane, NSW (Feb 2013)

Travelled to Vietnam & Cambodia

“We had a wonderful time and our accommodation was superb.”

Win & Bill, VIC (Feb 2013)

Travelled to Laos

“We returned from our holiday yesterday morning and would like to thank you for all of the arrangements that provided us with such great experiences. There were so many highlights such as the Shompoo cruise, everything in Luang Prabang, the mystery of the Plain of Jars and Le Silapa restaurant in Vientiane. The road trip to the Plain of Jars was very long but the scenery on the way was spectacular and we wouldn’t have missed seeing the various jar sites… I’d like to emphasise how wonderful our Pakse guide, Konoy, was. He spoke impressive English, understood all that we asked and made all of the necessary changes quickly and efficiently. He was terrific… Thanks again for all of your efforts in organising the trip.”

Janet & Don, NSW (Feb 2013)

Travelled to India

“…the holiday was AMAZING!! It exceeded my expectations in every way and your agency excelled, we were so very impressed with every detail that had been thought of and the quality of guides, driver, hotels, and representatives were all excellent. I cannot thank you enough, we had the most wonderful time and have returned with a bank of special memories which will last a life time.”

Amanda & David, NSW (Jan 2013)

Travelled to Laos & Cambodia

“Our time in Luang Prabang was very special. Firstly because of our guide “Lao” could not be more helpful and friendly and really shared his own story with us, which was very touching. As for Cambodia, The Plantation is the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed in. It's so hard though because all of the hotels were divine. We had a blast!
Thank you for all your help.”

Chauntelle & Drew, VIC (Jan 2013)

Travelled to Vietnam

“The trip was wonderful. We particularly enjoyed: 1) the Hanoi food tour with Tu Van Cong (the food blogger); 2) Halong Bay cruise on the Bhaya; 3) the morning cycling tour (with the Heaven and Earth) in Hoi An; 4) Redbridge cooking school (particularly the visit to Hoi An market with the chef) in Hoi An. All your accommodation recommendation was spot on and great – it was nice to end on a high note at the Majestic in Saigon… The guides were all courteous and helpful… It was a wonderful trip, and thank you for organizing it.”

Sachiko & Michael, NSW (Dec 2012)

“Vietnam: a country where you experience a range of emotions from sadness at war and its legacy through to the delight of trying new food and learning about culture. Everyone should visit Vietnam. Trip: Fantastic from planning to execution! Everything we expected was delivered and the guides were great.”

Briony & Simon, QLD (Dec 2012)

Travelled to Burma

“I would like to thank you for organising such a wonderful holiday, it was truly above all my expectations. In all the years that I have been travelling this was a very unique experience in particular the Inle Lake area.
The hotels were of an excellent standard as were the guides throughout my journey. I would recommend Myanmar to any traveller before it becomes too commercialised.
I would also highly recommend Oasis Travel to my work colleagues and friends in delivering a top notch service. ”

Fiona, NSW (Dec 2012)

Travelled to Borneo

“Thanks so much for organising our travel in Borneo. We were consistently impressed with the quality of the organisation, and with the smooth running of operations and careful, friendly, courteous, and helpful support we got while in Borneo. Transfers were invariably on time and smooth functioning. When something changed, care was taken to follow up with all the details and change everything down the line… We had a great time and saw many of the creatures we had intended to see… We saw 6 wild orang-utans, a close-up and personal experience at Sepilok with 3 on the path, and the other stand-out experience was a slow loris in the Danum Valley! We saw almost all the primates at the Kinabatangan River, and some great experiences with short and long-tailed macaques and of course those hilarious proboscis monkeys.”

Lin and party, QLD (Dec 2012)

Travelled to Vietnam & Cambodia

“All four of us found the whole trip to be excellent - well thought out and gave us a good overview of Vietnamese and Cambodian culture. All the guides were excellent (and all very different from each other but understood their area). We will definitely recommend this tour to others.”

“Just wanted to write and give you some feedback on our China trip. Your service was excellent and the information you provided pre-trip was particularly useful. The local guides were knowledgeable and helpful; of note was Ger who was our guide in Guilin and Yangshuo…….You made what would have been a very difficult holiday (China not being an easy country to navigate), far easier!”

Christina & Cy, VIC (Sep 2012)

Travelled to Laos

“The trip was awesome and I am so glad we changed it around.......I would have been so upset if we had done the trip the original way by ending in Vientiane so I was in luck you had swapped it around. I really LOVED the cooking school in Vientiane and Nook the teacher was funny and so skilled in her cooking..... Then we arrived in Luang Prabang and I was blown away! I may even go back in the near future and I very seldom say that as there are always new places to see. Thank you for sorting the trip for me, it was exactly what I had wanted.”

Travelled to China

“Our trip was memorable in many ways; China is a fascinating country full of contrasts. The itinerary was close to perfect for our requirements and the organisation of the tour company in China was faultless. Oasis travel and our consultant were great; plenty of good information, patient, personal communication and very prompt with all their responses to our many questions. We are so pleased we decided to book through them rather than with one of the big tour operators. We saw many large tour groups on our travels and just looked at each other and said thank goodness we’re not with them……. The hotels were all in great locations without exception……..The guides and drivers were faultless, punctual, knowledgeable and helpful. Jack in Beijing and Cristy in Guilin were exceptional……I would not hesitate to recommend Oasis if you’re thinking of travelling to China.”

Diane & Elsie, VIC (Jun 2012)

Credit also to your partners in China because the guides provided were uniformly excellent.........Nothing left to say except to thank you once again for doing such a great job. There is no better advertisement for a business than satisfied clients who talk and we will be doing a fair bit of that.”

Ross & Pamela, NSW (Mar 2012)

Travelled to Laos and Cambodia

“We had a wonderful holiday-thank you! The hotels were just great- Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap would stand out for great service and a wonderful vibe........ The guides were all quite competent but a couple were very good. On the Vientiane to Luang Prabang leg, Mr Smiley (don’t know his real name) was very engaging and quite fun......... in Siem Reap our guide Yam Rithy was just great. A really interesting and engaging young man who really listened to what we did and didn’t want regarding intel on the temples etc and went out of his way to show us some fascinating things. A proud Cambodian with a heart of gold, he helped make our trip particularly memorable.”

Alison & Matthew, NSW (Jan 2012)

Travelled to China

“We made it back to home all in one piece after having thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in China which all went off like clockwork.....We have now seen three tourist locations on the Great Wall and Mutianyu is definitely the best. You were right about being the only westerners in some of the places but we never felt uneasy.....Most people were friendly and I think a bit surprised to see us there at that time of year. The main advantage of January is no crowds at any of the tourist sites - we had long stretches of the Great Wall to ourselves and Mt Wuyi Park was practically empty......Thanks for organising a great holiday.”

David, Christine & Sarah, WA (Jan 2012)

Travelled to Laos and Vietnam

The staff there are very friendly. We saw lots on our river trips. We just wanted to thank you again for all your help.”

Mike & Gail, WA (Aug 2011)

Travelled to Vietnam

“The holiday was professionally organised and any small problems that arose whilst we were away were taken care of by Oasis and its staff. The recommendations made to us about places to dine, tailors to see and areas of interest were well thought out and proved to be well worth seeing. From these recommendations you could see that the Oasis staff had actually spent time in these locations and not just provided tips from a travel guide. All our guides and drivers were not only knowledgeable but also friendly and allowed us to be completely relaxed on our trip without worrying about how we were going to get around Vietnam. This was a big plus! We will be recommending Oasis travel to all our family and friends and also encourage everyone to get out and see Vietnam.”

“Thank you Oasis Travel! – Our holiday to Borneo was a wonderful experience thanks to your planning and organisation. It far exceeded our expectations. We experienced the wonderful culture of north Borneo (climbing Mt. Kinabalu, snorkelling at Gayana Island and visiting the Orangutans at Sepilok, being moved by the wonderful memorial at Sandakan to the POW during the Second World War, indulged in the wonderful array of foods and tropical fruits and were made to feel very welcome by the local Malay people and our wonderful guides. Overall a tremendous experience and we would recommend a holiday in Sabah, Borneo to our friends and family.”

The Violet Junk was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful way to explore Halong Bay in comfort.....”

Travelled to Vietnam

“We enjoyed the tour immensely. It was a great mix of luxury and local culture, the cycling suited us and the guides and drivers were excellent. They were able to adapt to our needs and requirements. Julie’s special dietary requirements were more than satisfied. At all locations the guides and restaurants went out of their way to cater for our needs”. We would recommend your service and associated agents in Vietnam to anyone who wished to take this type of tour”.

Travelled to Vietnam & Cambodia

This holiday exceeded our expectations in every way! The organisation by Oasis was extremely well done with expert advice and efficiency. The hotels were outstanding, beautiful and well located……this wonderful holiday ran without a single hitch. Vietnam and Cambodia are beautiful, complex and fascinating countries, their people warm and friendly. We had a fantastic time and will want to visit again in the future.
