Tanna’s drawcard is Mount Yasur volcano. The world’s largest and most accessible active volcano. Mount Yasur at 361metres, is located in the south-east and is regarded as the world’s most accessible active volcano. Over the centuries, ash rain from Yasur has built up substantial black dunes, creating a stark moonscape. Visitors can climb up to the crater rim, where they are treated to a magnificent fireworks display when night-time viewing is best.
